MS user for 20 years
I use Office for the Mac because for the last 20 years as a IT professional it has never failed me. I am able to use it because it is cross-platform compatible and easy to share. I also use it at home to build recipes and use excel for keeping track of bills. I started using Word on a 128K Mac.

Feature Set and Usability
I have tried the alternatives to Office for Mac. Not even OpenOffice cuts it for what I need. I need, specifically, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Mac. Not only are they fully compatible with the documents I get from work (and the other way around as well, of course), but they contain the features and capabilities that I need to efficiently and effectively do my job. It's not a simple matter of having become used to the feature set of Office over years of use. It's that they have core functionality that other applications lack.

I work at a church and originally used Office for Mac for maximum compatibility with my PC-using coworkers while having the capability to do everything I needed. As time marched on, our PC users switched, but we've all stuck with Office for Mac for our daily needs.

why i use Office for Mac
As a writer (and student) Mircosoft Word is the go-to program for all my word processing needs. All the papers I write, reports, short stories. Its pretty amazing. It allows me to do various kinds of formatting. Which is really important for my short stories or poems that I write. But then can also be very professional, for my resumes and project outlines. Which combine nicely with Powerpoint as well.
Also compatibility, being able to use the same files on Windows computers as well as on Google Docs or importing and editing it on my iPod Touch as proven time and again to be a lifesaver.

Pure Mac Environment
Office for Mac is, not surprisingly, the best office suite for OSX and provides very good compatibility with the Windows version. My preference is to work in an all OSX environment even though most of the customers I deal with are using Windows and create documents under Office for Windows. A big advantage, for me, in Office for Mac is that I do not need to run Windows in a virtual machine to create and edit documents. By not loading a VM my battery life is a proven 20% better which is often the difference between going all day without the need to find a power outlet and running out of battery in a late day meeting.

Make a Difference
I would be lost without my Mac Office. I teach middle school mathematics at an International Baccalaureate Magnet School and they are deep into that other program. My Mac Office allows me to differentiated my instruction by being able to quickly and accurately respond to their needs. Wish I had more office tools to match their varied needs. Can't wait for the newest updates to make a difference.

Office for Mac Usage
I selected Office for Mac for multiple reasons. Encrypting and password protecting documents was the most important. Being able to share those encrypted documents with friends, coworkers and family also was very important. The compatibility between the Mac and PC has been bridged by far with the use of Office for Mac. I am loving Office 2008 and I can't wait to see what Office 2011 will have in store for me.

Just Being Honest
I am newer than most to the Mac scene, I am not an IT professional nor am I a professional writer.
I am a recent "switcher" and I do own a Macbook, one of the first programs I bought was Office for the Mac. As a former Windows user I did everything with Word & Powerpoint, as did most of my friends and family. The fact that Office is cross platform and does not require me to change file types to save files simplifies things and I like simple

I use Office for Mac because, as a student at a liberal arts college, it's important for me to have a reliable program. It's easy to do what I want with this program, and I've never been disappointed in it. It's also earned my trust by recovering my documents in the event of crash. I write several short papers each week, and without Office for Mac it would be pretty close to impossible for me to get my work done and feel good about the way it looks.
When I was in high school, I edited a literary magazine and did the majority of the work in Office for Mac--it was always reliable and easy to tweak, as well as compatible with any of the computers I needed to work on.

Office Mac Is the ONLY Suite for Adjunct Professors
I am an Adjunct History and Political Science professor and I never know where I will be teaching from one semester to the next. Often, I am teaching at two or three colleges at the same time. Through all this I do not know what I would do without the cross platform capabilities of Office Mac. From the different versions of Word or some other word processor that the colleges or universities use, to student papers submitted to me online, I know that I will be able to download, read, open, edit and print important documents. Especially since I require students to use particular footnoting methods, Office Mac makes their life and mine much easier as it is built in to the 2007/08 version. As an adjunct on a limited budget, I know and recommend there is only one suite of programs that fellow professors require for their Macs, Office Mac.

I Love Office
Uso Office todos los días, trabajo en Marketing y es casi esencial para mi dia a dia, tanto para el trabajo como para mi hogar. La aplicación que más utilizo es Excel, al que considero uno de los mejores inventos que existen. El powerpoint también lo utilizo con mucha frecuencia y me parece que es cada vez más completo.
También utilizo el Office para windows y espero que apliquen muchas de las mejoras introducidas en la ultima versión también para Office for Mac.
Creo que no hay ninguna otra herramienta tan potente y útil como el Office.

Office of Mac means clean interface
As student, I use office for mac for note-taking, presentation making and creating excel spreadsheets. I have never had an easier time organizing my notes and updating my work between my macbook pro and PC desktop before I started using this wonderful suite of products.

As a healthcare IT professional and doctoral student I need a product that works with both operating systems and provides a seamless experience. Mac Forced me to learn new stuff....
I am an analytics guy and windows office guru. My new mac (bought late 2008) forced me to learn about lots of new add-ons that I use in windows and were not immediately available in excel. It has also forced me to look at alternatives for Access (none of which I like). I am excited about Mac Office 2011 and would love to get my wife into a shiny new mac.

There is still only one office. I use Excel frequently for data-gathering and am continually astounded by its features. (Love to have VBA back, though!) I reach a point where I can't do something and I think someone has already solved this problem. Sure enough, I can find a solution(s) that works for me.

Academia for Biomedical Engineering
As an Academic in Biomedical Engineering, Mac Office allows me to be productive and compatible with my colleagues while using the tools provided in Mac OS X. Excel is essential for data processing and allows scientists to produce professional looking charts. Word is the standard for manuscripts and grant applications. PowerPoint is used constantly to produce posters and presentations for conferences and meetings. Keep up the good work!

It's The Only Program That Really Works
I had tried many programs after switching over to Mac, including iWorks and dozens of free online software, but none of them were very comprehensive or easy to use. They would crash frequently or no longer be compatible when my system would update. I got Microsoft Office and haven't looked back since. It's easy to use, updates often, and is widely used, so I don't have to worry about someone else having compatible software if I send them a document. When giving class presentations, I know I can use PowerPoint and not run into any trouble trying to show the presentation on the class computer. Word is so easy to use, and it's compatible with everything, so I always make sure I use it when typing up a paper or updating my resume. Overall, Microsoft Office is just high quality software that I wouldn't want to go without.

Power and Compatibility
As a visual consultant, I use Excel to crunch the data that I use in my infographics and visualizations, and I use PowerPoint to share visuals with clients. It's important to be completely cross-platform compatible with clients no matter what computer they use. The "power" of MS Excel when compared to iWork Numbers is absolutely essential to my work.

Office is Awesome
For me, Office has been the standard upon which other office suites compare themselves to. And up to now, it is still the most complete and best of its class out there. I can do anything with office unlike the claims of other suites. They may be easier but they are not exactly complete in its ability to do certain tasks. The icing of the cake is of course, Office for Macs compatibility with it's WIndows siblings!

Entourage to the Rescue!
When it comes to communication, productivity, and organization, nothing beats Outlook on a PC.
I am the president of our HOA and volunteer for a few AIDS charities in Phoenix. I get loads of email, have many appointments and tons of tasks and projects to prioritize and complete.
When I got a Mac, my life became a disorganized mess... that is, until I installed Office 2008 with Entourage.
Thanks to Entourage, I am back on track and able to focus on more important things, like getting things done.

I am a IT Pro working on a network with 1200 users. Our 50 MacIntosh users produce documents, memos, spreadsheets and presentations which are visible and available to the other users on the enterprise. Office for the Mac allows our users to communicate seamlessly to the enterprise.
Word is my favorite product of the Bunch. The results are clean, fast and easy. Excel allows us to manage huge amounts of data effortlessly, something we could not do before. Even Entourage, the weakest link of the suite, allows our users to communicate without dreaded file conversions, and we can use our Exchange server with integrated authentication and use all the groups and address lists available in the organization.
And as a bonus, we use Messenger to connect to our internal users via Microsoft Office Communicator Server 2007.

I enjoy being part of a great team at a non-profit for higher education. Having to constantly interact between multiple operating systems, Office for Mac 2004 is a huge time saver for me. Mac is my favourite platform - Office my Must Have
When working with clients I need the most compatible platform to exchange documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Microsoft Office as the defacto standard does excatly offer this. Besides that it is the most feature complete Office suite that I know of.
Would also love to have 2011 with Outlook a.s.a.p. to get rid of some email issues that I currently see in my heterogeneous environment!

Why I use Office for Mac
I am an owner of a small technology integration company in South Florida. I have been a MS Office user since the early 1990's on my PCs. I recently switched to a MacBook Pro and rely on MS Office for Mac so that I can work the exact same way I did when I was on my PC. I'm extremely excited about the new Outlook for Mac with support for importing my .PST file, which is around 23 Gig in size. Without that .PST file all of my business information would be gone. The Easiest Way to be Productive
I've been a Mac user for a long time, and in all my years of Patronage, I have found that Office for Mac is simply the easiest, most efficient, and best office suite available for the platform. It's more feature-rich, and I always complete my work faster and easier.
I have used other office suites, but it terms of functionality, compatibility, and real-world usability, there is no comparison. I cannot wait for Office 11.

Why I love office for mac
I recently made the switch to the Mac world and found that while Textedit was just fine for simple stuff, my instructors expected a bit more. Office for mac allows me to play nice with Office for Windows, or Mac, really a perfect situation.

A Mac User in a PC World
I work in a government research office where it is critical that everyone has access to word-processing and spreadsheet applications. The last year or so has seen a real sea change from mostly PC to a majority of Macintosh systems in labs, offices and so on. Mac Office has been INVALUABLE to us here at our offices in not only keeping our "clientele" happy, but in being able to produce content, manage email and so forth. We make use of the whole suite of applications from Entourage to Powerpoint. Daily use by ourselves here in the IT staff and our "patrons". We are on ourselves on an island, so to speak, in our use and support of Macintosh, but with Microsoft Office for Mac we can not only deal with whatever area office and headquarters sends our way, but also manage/create documents with tools that everyone knows and loves.

Film Organization
Since I am a film editor, I use Final Cut Pro on my Mac. The easiest way to edit is organizing shots. So I use Excel in Office For Mac to organize each shot by file name, folder location, length (timecode) and a short description of the clip. This has made Office For Mac nearly as important as my editing suite. I wouldn't be able to edit feature films without it!

I´m a Software engeneer so I do lots of notes to capture requirements, ideas, code snippets, to do lists... Word is the perfect tool for the job, allows me to quickly capture the ideas and then format them easily so they can translate in to documents that I can share with clients and colleagues .

I'm not an IT professional or a professional for that matter; however, I'm a student who switched to a Mac a while back. I used Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 on my PC for about 5 years and found myself relieved to know that adapting to a Mac would be easier with Office for Mac. All my previous knowledge with Office didn't go to waste, it's cross-platform compatible, work is easier with all the templates and the UI is so simple. It's easily helped me create professional-looking work as a student for over 6 years - something no other software has allowed me to do. Office for Mac has raised the standards of how good I expect my documents and powerpoints to look and that has benefit me. Whether I win or not, thank you so much for creating Office for Mac.

Power Point
For interviews Power Point is invaluable. I present a short deck covering my vision and strategies to a perspective employer. I also create a single slide that I then print out and leave with a summary of what I presented.
Word
Resume, resume, resume, plan and simple. I attach my Word resume on all applications. I also use Word to write and edit all of my blog entries. (I am composing this message in Word now!) The Notebook layout is great for taking notes on possible job opportunities and new blog entries.
Excel
Tracking expenses is key when you're looking for work and Excel does this superbly. In some cases, I have also used it to show ROI charts for previous work I have completed.
All in all Office for Mac is an integral piece of my job hunt!

As a full-time writer and full-time nursing student, I use Office for Mac probably about 12 hours every day. Yea, I'm serious. That's 600 glorious minutes per day of typing, editing, proofreading, database-ing, charting, recording, analyzing and creating. And you know what? Office for Mac makes my job/school work easy and fun! And although I absolutely love my iMac, I hate being confined to my desk! I'm just drooling over those pretty little MacBooks

Office for Mac is the best way to conduct my freelance editing work. The vast majority of my clients have Office on their computers, and it makes communicating easy. I can use track changes to make my edits clear and give complete control over a document to the customer.

As a hardworking Student I always consider my spendings at least 5 times before I go for it. That's why I always tell people that my MacBook was my best purchase ever, but in fact that will be Office for Mac. Office 2008 has been a lifesaver, a godsend!
I work in a marketing department for a very large manufacturing company--and presentations are crucial! We choose to use none other than Powerpoint for Mac 2008. This allows us to make awesome presentations to awe future customers and to blow away our competition (they may use Powerpoint as well--but we're better at it ;D ...)
Along with Powerpoint, the whole Office 2008 suite is awesome, irreplaceable.
However! I don't have a Mac at home I would love one and THAT would be a godsend as well!

One thing I'm loving about Office for Mac 2011 is the return of VBA to the Mac office suite. Just wrote a VBA script this morning to color code cells in a customer satisfaction scorecard that made all the sales guys go "wow". Would have taken hours to hand code the cells, but VBA made it a 5 minute job. Welcome back VBA!

I use OFM because Pages is often inaccurate at converting to word documents. This is a problem when submitting papers to my university that requires specific formatting, especially considering I do everything online. I have a netbook that I am increasingly disliking because of the size and speed and I don't always have access to Mac at the office. When I bought OFM 04 it had always been glitchy but the update to 2008 has been amazing. I can finally edit between my W7 w/ MO2007 and OSX 10.6 w/ OFM 2008.

I need to be able to open work documents at home. Plus I'm so used to Office that it would be more difficult to learn another app. Looking forward to the next version, so it'll be more similar to the Windows version...

I use Office for Mac because it simply makes sense. My job uses the Office Suite on all work provided laptops, but at home I use a Mac so using Office for Mac allows me to keep up with the job even when Im not using my work laptop.

Compatibility
I work in an academic environment and file compatibility is very important. Although Mac iWork is good suite, Office is the standard on both platform therefore the default choice for users of both platforms. However I do wish office 2008 on Mac was as smooth and polished as the office 2007 on PC but it was not the case. Judging by how the office 2011 run on my preliminary test, it is much better than 2008 and much closer to what the office 2007 (now 2010) looks and functions on pc. I am really looking forward to it. On a second note, I do wish OneNote, which is standard component on office 2010 PC now, can also be included in the office 2011 mac version. Nothing on the entire software market compare closely to the Onenote.

It has the cross-platform I need to operate in multi-OS environments. I sure hope 2011 has support for RTL and complex scripts like 2007 on Windows!

Why I love use Office for Mac
Of course it comes down to compatibility of cross platform as well as the interface looks much better than the Office for the window version. I enjoy the working with it for over 10 years and with the new version it improve opening file from other language which really useful.
Can't wait for Office 2011... only thing need to improve is Messenger for Mac

I used a 128K Mac back in 1997 at my first real job, with a small advertising agency. I loved that little computer. Since then I've worked for technology companies and have been in a Windows-only work environment.
Last year, after a particularly frustrating Vista incident, I purchased a MacBook for personal use. I love my MacBook, and Office for Mac means I can take it from the rec room to boardroom. Having Office for Mac allows me to bring my MacBook to the office and easily collaborate with co-workers. The compatibility Office for Mac offers also means my clients and I can easily exchange documents with no converting issues. The added bonus of the Office Project Gallery in Word means that I can create documents that are better looking than anything I've ever seen on PC, but are PC completely friendly.

As the only Mac user in an office of 100+, it's essential that my productivity suite (and the files I create with it) play nicely with my coworkers' files and systems. In 6+ years ion this setup, I've never had an issue regarding compatibility.

Why I use office for mac
I use office at work and iWork at home and I have noticed the difference between the two programs. I have not yet used office for mac yet but am currently downloading the trial version. I hope that it is a lot like office for windows because there seem so be so much more I can do with it then I work and it is a little bit more user friendly on the PC. I also just started college and am tiered of doing the exporting thing in iWork.

Office 2011: The gateway drug for enterprise level Mac use
I started using a Mac when I began developing our corporate website. I've also been able to convince management to convert many of their machines to Macs as well. Without Office, I couldn't have even got in the door with my own Mac. Now many executives are on MacBookPros and without Office they would never have even entertained the thought.
It all starts with the UI, it combines the best of the Mac experience with a familiar Office feel. Outlook 2011 has to be one of the best moves ever made in the Office for Mac history and has been amazing even in Beta.

I'm a rising senior at college, and I have always relied heavily on Microsoft Office for Mac to help me with assignments for classes.
Word is the best document writer out there. From charts to layouts, Word can make some pretty sick documents.
PowerPoint - people always tell me how great my presentations are. This program helps me create clean presentations that are informative and fun.
Excel - If I have to make charts or crunch some large data, Excel does the job very well.
MS Office for Mac = I think it's a great program that helps unleash my creative and professional side.

I've been an Office customer for almost 20 years now, and there's a reason for that. Office for Mac is the best, the most powerful suite. I'm very excited about the ribbon interface and additional power coming to Office: Mac. I don't want to compromise on power or performance (hint, hint) because I use the Mac version. I'm looking forward to the new UI, features and speed (hint, hint) of Office 2011. Looks like the Mac BU is really delivering on this one.

Why change what works
I use office for Mac because its been embedded in my mind for years as a PC user. I'm so familiar with it I just cant stray and knowing I can use it on a MAC too makes life that much better. Its got all the bells n whistles you need and is compatible with all platforms.

Why I chose office for Mac
I'm a medical student that just got my first Mac laptop and will put Microsoft Office 2011 to great use. It is my duty to create powerpoint presentations, spreadsheets, and word documents on a day to day basis. Furthermore, I need Outlook for my Mac in order to check my hospital assigned email inbox. I now have to use a PC when I check my mail which is NOT convenient! It's time show the PC fans that anything you can do, I can do better; so send that package my way please .

Transition from work to home
At work we use the Microsoft desktop and Office applications, so using Office for Mac at home for me is a no-brainer. Taking "work" to and from work/home is real easy with Office for Mac on my iMac at home.

It's not Google Docs
The Google Docs renderer process in Activity Viewer (in Safari or Chrome) ends up gobbling about 95% of my CPU resources anytime it's used for a long period of time. I'm sick and tired of my Mac getting bogged down when I'm only writing a text document.
Mac Office is still the best word processor for the Mac.

Why I use Office for Mac
I am a college teacher and give my students assignments that they have to turn in in a digital format. Most of my students use PCs, so I need Office for Mac to read their assignments. Also, I make a lot of lessons using PowerPoint and like how I can use the Office for Mac to make the slide show and show the slide show on the PCs in the classrooms.

Why I use office for Mac...
I switched to Mac in 2008 and quickly became a fan of Office for Mac. As an SEO and Ecommerce Manager, I the power of a good design environment as well as office productivity tools. I prefer the UI over Office 2007 for Windows and love how smoothly it runs on my MacBook Pro.
The bottom line for me is that Office 2008 and OSX make my life easier. My laptop doesn't crash as often and it's much more durable than my previous machine.

I work with some Windows-using heathens who are on Office 2007 or 2010 on Windows. It is extremely important that layout, fonts, table styles, etc, remain consistent across platform, so Office for Mac is a must!

I use Office for the Mac for it's ubiquitous nature. I never have to worry if someone I send a file to can read it. While I do miss the scripting capabilities in Excel, I typically don't need them. I certainly will love to have them back in 2011. Word just works, actually the little trouble I have usually is due to someone on a very old PC version.

I choose to use Office because of its cross-platform compatibility and extensive feature set. I particularly appreciate how well Word is able to handle long documents with extensive citations, complex field codes and mathematical formulas, as well as embedded files such as figures made in other programs. The new features that you've added to PowerPoint are also great!

I've been supporting and using Macs since the very first one was released in 1984. Microsoft Word established itself as the defacto standard for word processing in those days amongst a sea of competitors. SInce then, any contender has had to have some sort of compatibility with its file format. That says a lot. Feature-wise the latest version of Office for Mac is cleaner and more streamlined than it Windows counterpart. That makes it very appealing to me and the way I work. I hope Office 2010 for Mac retains this interface design thinking.

I didn't choose Office for Mac... it chose me
My friends that know me well make fun of me all the time.. they laugh because I have become absolutely, unequivocally and perhaps shamefully dependent on Office.. that it dictates just about every aspect of my day to day. Sounds a little extreme? But it is 100% true. Here's just few examples:
(1) I've relocated so many times, from one state to another, over the past several years that I have actually inventoried my entire apartment on an Excel spreadsheet. Everything from my entire catalogue of CD's and DVD's to sweaters and shoes. I've used Excel because I needed to keep track of the value of everything I owned in case one of my many movers lost a box in between moves (by the way, this is a great way to get around their pennies-per-pound recovery value policy, but it takes painstaking detail to keep track of which items end up in which box).
(2) I use Entourage's calendar function to keep track of all of my important dates and activities - it's got all of my birthdays (I've never missed a birthday since), anniversaries, etc. I even have every single 'important' email I've ever received since I started using email saved on my Entourage, no kidding (although, I can't wait to move back to the Outlook on the 2011 version, which will hopefully not crash as often as my super-sized Entourage data files do - backing this stuff up is a whole separate issue, but that goes beyond the scope of Office).
(3) While not available on the Mac, I'm also a religious user of databases - I've in the past used Access to keep track of everything from my business communications logs to managing my personal portfolio of investments (harnessing the power of Access database programming to analyze my portfolio and keep me in line by helping me keep track of notes on why I made an investment in the first place). Will there ever be an Access for Mac???
(4) And... back to Excel, because that's probably what controls my life more than anything else. This is something I absolutely cannot live without. I maintain a custom monthly budgeting worksheet to track every penny of spending and to keep track of saving up for the all important 'vacation budget'. I have a spreadsheet that keeps track of all of my golf scores. Oh... and I really think you don't need TurboTax when you have Excel (I've got formulas that follow every rule of the Form 1040 - plus, when there's a tax rule change from year to year, I can see exactly what they are since I'm not relying on a 'black box' to simply spit out a number for me).
Even I find all of this quite excessive.. but like I said, I didn't choose Office.. it chose me. So, say what you want.. laugh at me, pity me, hate me... but you can't take my mojo from me.

Many uses with a MacBook with Office for Mac 2011
My professional and personal life demands the use of Office for Mac on a daily basis. I've used Word to make "For Sale" signs, invitations and much, much more. While I was a student, I used Powerpoint for all the many class presentations that were presented to students and instructors and I'm using Excel professionally for on-going projects such as a collection of a terminology list in my language for our educators. Having said all that, Office for Mac has made my life that much more interesting, informative and colourful. I must admit it's a dandy program to know how to use.

I use Excel 2007 extensively at work as an accountant. To date (other than the macro issue) I have been able to scope new reports at home on my mac prior to building them on Office 2007. I am hoping that 2011 not only allows users to default to the views/navigation of its windows counterpart but also offers the ability to default all shortcut key strokes to that of 2007.

I bought my mac two years ago and immediately it appears to me that the productive suite that came with the mac (especially page and numbers) are not suited for me because I do not only use my laptop for work but also shares my files in emails and later modifies them on other windows systems. Office is seemingly the only productive suite that can work professionally on both platforms (as compared to other open source office softwares) therefore I was really happy to see the release of office on mac. Although there are a few functions and bugs initially associated with it, I like the way it appears in general. It is very convenience tool for generally short papers, and plug-in like mathtype help me to make typing equations relatively simple so that I do not have to take much more time doing LATAX. So..in one sentence, it is very convenient, powerful productive tool to use on both platforms.

Despite criticism of the application during these period, i still believe Office for mac is the best package whereby you can shift easily between Mac and PC which i've done quite frequent. Both As A Student and Professional
As a student on campus, the Office suite allows me to view, edit and utilize media offered to me by professors, as well as a useful note-taking tool while in class. It is maintains an extremely user-friendly environment, while allowing me to perform complex tasks that save me both time and stress when completing assignments and creating presentations.
As a professional working for the Red Cross, Office on Mac allows me to integrate my calendar and allows me to work on documents both at home and work seamlessly. Incredible platform, it allows me to use my laptop of choice with the office suite of my choice as well.

A Standard in Productivity
I'm a college student, and it's almost expected that essays are turned in in Word format. Excel is the most powerful spreadsheet program, and I regularly use it for labs. It's simply the expectation, and the software is good enough to deserve the expectation.

Capability, Compatibility & Collaboration
I've been using Microsoft Office since it's very first incarnation, before which I had to rely mostly on text editors like ed and vi (yes, that definitely dates me!)
Over the years I've created more documents than I care to remember using Word, PowerPoint and Excel - including a published book. The Office suite is extremely capable and something that I would be lost without.
Since moving to the Mac I truly value the ability to collaborate with my colleagues using the compatibility afforded by Office for Mac. With the pending release of Office for Mac 2011 I'm looking forward to experiencing an even more capable tool, with deeper compatibility.

PowerPoint Movie?!
For a Spanish class project, we were assigned to create a video. Not really wanting to create an actual video, my team asked if we could use PowerPoint instead. Our teacher was cool with it so we started work on our adventure.
We took some snap shots of other teachers, cut out their heads, and created little cut out bodies in PowerPoint. Well, after about 1,500 PowerPoint slides we created a movie with audio, music, and even a fight scene! It was pretty amazing and we got a well deserved A for the project.
Looking forward to Office 2011!

I would like to start off to say that I was an AVID pc fanboy for around 15 years. Just this year I got my first macbook pro and of course got a copy of Office for Mac. I can honestly say I don't know what I was thinking waiting this long! Everything about the mac and specifically office for mac is VERY intuitive and just well.....works and makes sense. Down to the screen layout to options, Office for Mac has everything I need and everything anyone else would need in a productivity environment. Office for Mac is kinda like Goose, the perfect wing-man!

Why I use office
Im a Mac guy in a Windows world, its not made of plastic and thats fantastic (thats the end of the Barbie Girl reference now). Office allows me to just get on with work, I open briefs in Word, and client docs in powerpoint. While there is compatible software which runs just fine, office for mac allows me to move from the Windows computers at work to my Mac seamlessly and everything just works, just the way a Mac should be.

Whilst my mac is beautiful and smooth and efficient, Office helps me work with the world, communicate my thoughts to the world.
Thoughts arise and out comes Word. A document, a letter, an academic paper. All crafted with quality, layout and language improved.
Another thought and out comes PowerPoint. A few diagrams, pictures and bullets and my meaning is clear. Workflow, ideas, thoughts communicated.
Another thought and out comes Excel. My yearly projects clearly outlined, summed and approved. Rolling up, filtering and charts included.
And the world can read my work on a Mac, PC or online.
Oh but how I miss the Ribbon, hurry Office 2011!

This is the best program. The alternatives just aren't the same, especially when needing macro access. Haven't found a better spreadsheet anywhere.

I can see the other posters have forgotten...
You remember the date: August 4th, 2005. That was when they came, with their massive ships and even more tremendous weapons.
And boy, were they pissed.
"People of Earth!" the boomed, large and monolithic above the skies of our major cities. "We read your documents, and we have caught your viruses! Give us the cure, or we will remove your threat from the universe!"
PC users quailed... How could they remove the viruses? How could they work with already infected files? Some gnashed teeth, while yet others sat, cowed in their cubicle corners, waiting patiently for oblivion.
But then... I remembered that Office for Mac is, by nature, so much less vulnerable. I opened those files, copied and pasted the text, and safely stripped out the infectious intruders. Then I sent the documents back to the alien invaders.
They were pleased with the solution! Stock in both Apple and Microsoft skyrocketed, and orders were placed with Microsoft for enough copies of Office for Mac to keep their homeworld offices running for years to come.
True story. Office for Mac once helped me save the world.

Back and Forth
Microsoft Office is the standard, and I have used it for years, since Word 1.0. But more importantly, my customers expect documents in .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx format. I'm a Mac guy, so Mac Office 2008 is my tool of choice. I'm thrilled to have a version of Office for the Mac. That's what I use every day. (I have Windows and Office 2010 in a virtual machine, but I go there only to be sure the docs go back and forth perfectly.)

Entourage - can't work without it!
Office is an impressive suite whether it's on Mac or Windows.
I use Outlook at work as an IT Professional and there's no better way to feel productive than to continue using MS Entourage on my home machine. It'd be even better if I finally had a laptop to get work done on the move! ^^
Apple Mail, Address Book, iCal, and whatever little apps they're moving don't come close to the Entourage powerhouse - I can even do tasks in a way that makes sense!
If you're putting Macs in your office - you need MS Office.

Keeps me in step with my school
I teach in a district which has standardized on Office for Windows running on Dell computers. I can use my own MacBook Pro and go back and forth between it and my classroom computer with Ofice for Mac.

Great for my computer course!
I'm taking an online computer course, and one of the components is Microsoft Office (Windows). I used a retired PC for the course, and worked along on my Mac using a trial Office 2008 to learn the ropes. It was great! I really can't wait for Office for Mac 2011 (or a paid up version of 2008!).

Great fro Students
In my four years of high school, I never used any tool more often than PowerPoint in my presentation-based projects, of which there were many. While there was always an option to use a posterboard decorated by hand, I consistently preferred to use PowerPoint, as it allowed better graphic design, and color printers were never available to me. I always received high marks for creativity in my projects, as I was able to use any image I wanted from any source, and in any way I wanted, producing visually stimulating multi-faceted presentations. I even used it to make small 8.5x11 posters in various classes. They always looked stunning and were much easier to make than if I had attempted to do something that simple in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, which is too complicated for such simple needs. From my experience with it in high school I have become a faithful user of PowerPoint and I will be a faithful user of it as long as it exists, which I should hope is a very long time.

I use office for mac before it's just as powerful as office for PC but runs on my great Mac hardware. I am a collector and have a number of spreadsheets that do vlookups and other combinations on my inventory. This wouldn't be possible without excel!

Simply Amazing
One word. Compatibility.
Although the beautiful user interface of the Office for Mac line-up is definitely one to be boastful about, the ability to send my office documents to other machines without any discrepancies in the layout is testament to its utility on top of the software's stellar design.
It, without a doubt, makes for a seamless office experience when it comes to meddling with my documents.
I am definitely awaiting the next update.

When I got into university, I learned "word" when I started my pHD I learned "powerpoint" when I got into post doc I learned "excel/access" now I'm working on different opensourced office suites, but the usability of powerpoint and excel is just superior.

Compatibility is the key
I need to now and then take work documents home. At work its pretty much a PC only shop, but at home its nothing but Macs. We don't do anything hugely complex in our documents and spreadsheets, so it is typically pretty easy to bring stuff home and make changes. I just carry documents in a thumb drive formatted as FAT32 and Office for Mac makes it easy.

Excel is the reason
So many functions, so much potential. Nothing comes near to Excel's capabilities. I can't wait for the new one, even more functionality. As a power excel user, I'm looking foreword for my workbooks to be fully compatible with my mac.

Use of Office for Mac
Even though Google Docs is making great strides and is a very compelling tool set, Microsoft Office is still best for hard core data manipulation - for example, Excel pivot tables.
Being a Mac-based environment, Office for Mac is the most effective way for our users to work with data. Even though Excel 2004 has size limitations and Excel 2008 has macro limitations ....

as a long time MS user who switched to Macs two years ago, the only thing I really missed was Office. I bought Office for Mac and have not looked back. it's compatible with wverything and has (for me) the absolute best feature that no other product has "format painter".
since i do all my work in a one man shop there's no time for tech support so i need to buy stuff that just works. Office for Mac does.

By far the best on the market..but also...
By far Microsoft office beats any other Office based program on the market. I had made my college life much easier and i have never had an issue with it. With the compatibility with windows version mate it easy to switch between os's.
The great mac feel too....also a great place to edit your photos....you would be amazed what you can do with your photos on Office 2008
The PC with Windows is a great office tool as we know. Now, we can share that same great experience of office, not have to worry about what works and compats.. and just get the job done.
Im trying to build my musical career up. I use office for my incomes and presentations based on my music. When creating an important keynote it has never let me down.

Nothing better on the Mac
I have preferred Mac Office over the Windows version for years now. Smoother, easier and with more interoperability with Windows than any other suite including Apple's iWork.
I think I've worked on every version of Mac Office since it's been out and I'm looking forward to the 2011 version now too, though I'm a little nervous about Outlook. I actually LOVE Entourage -- this from a former Claris Em@iler devotee.

I don't like clutter and have used Nisus Writer Pro exclusively for college. All that changed once I got my hands on Office for Mac. Not only does Office for Mac have a great new UI, but it's 100% compatible with the files my classmates use which makes things so much easier and allows me to develop more robust documents to share.

Years of work on MS-Office
I have worked with MS-Office for about 15 years, since switching away from Bank Street Writer and WordPerfect many moons ago. I am a fairly new Mac User and do not believe installed tools or iWork will do what I want. I like having control of tasks and contacts and links to Live Meetings, Excel files and SharePoints. Office for Mac is a must since I use both Mac at home and windows at work and need to share files. Businesses run on MS-Office... "He with the best PowerPoint wins!"

The right tools, right now.
As a member of the Apple Consultants Network, and a cross platform consultant, I have to stay up to date on the latest tools on multiple platforms. The best software for the most tasks is undoubtedly the Office 2008 suite. In my day to day routine, I train people in switching platforms from PC to Mac and help longtime Mac users gain new skills with the computers and software that they use. For cross-platform compatibility and ease of use (and the least headaches) the Office suite is the king.

Outlook
One of my users wanted to try the Mac world. So, after years on a PC and MS Office, we switched him - with no MS Office. I gave him TBird.
This person's computer usage is 99% email so the Mac is a hit but ... we need Outlook fast!!! Did I mention that he is also 99% computer unsavvy!
Anyway, do I have a beta tester for you.

Maximum productivity and efficiency for a mostly one-person shop
We are a small nonprofit professional theatre company, and we have used Office for Mac from the early days, nearly 20 years ago when it was first introduced. The cross-platform compatibility is unmatchable and the entire suite of programs is useful from Word for scripts, media releases, meeting agendas, etc. to Excel for production budgets, box office tallies, auction procurement tracking, etc. to Entourage for keeping email, calendar and contacts organized and integrated and PowerPoint to pull together multimedia presentations used in performances and beyond--Office for Mac is a cornerstone to the work we do and achieving as much as we do with as little as we have. We are excited about the release f Office for Mac 2011, and box office and production would fight over who gets to use the swanky new MacBook, if we were to win. It would more than double our capacity and productivity, in ways we couldn't otherwise afford.

MacOffice 2008 has been easy and fun to use thus I am sure that MacOffice 2010 will be even more nicer and fun and easy to use as well. Have been looking forward to the MacOffice upgrade ever since Windows Office 2010 Beta came out over a year ago. Thank my daughter
Turns out my 11-year old daughter is a wiz with Microsoft PowerPoint. I'm amazed at the presentations she can put together. She begged me to install Office on our Mac at home so that she could work on presentations she had created at school on subjects such as history and science. She even put together a vacation photo slideshow complete with animations and narrative after we returned from a recent roadtrip. Everyone who has seen it was so impressed. And of course having Microsoft Word has been so helpful both with my work and with her papers for school. Thank you for helping to unleash my creative little genius.

Humanitarian Connections
As someone who works alongside a number of important organisations it is important for me to be able to share resources and information in an internationally recognised and compatible format. Although I am purely a voluntary worker who receives no income for what I do it is important to be able to “connect” in a professional way. This is why I am a very firm advocate and user of Microsoft Office products both on the PC & Mac platforms. The only challenge I currently have is no Outlook for Mac. I am so looking forward to the imminent release of Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac and believe it will be “the icing on the cake”. Thank you Microsoft!

I use all components of the office package, primarily Excel and Word it works so much better on my iMac and sending documents to Windows users is no problem. The interaction between the Mac operating system and Mac Office programs makes the tasks so much easier and user friendly than using them in a Vista based environment which I occasionally have to do.

I use Microsoft Office for Mac because it's the industry standard and because I love my Macintosh. On my windows computer I use Microsoft Office and to get the most out of cross-platform productivity there' no better program than Office:Mac.
I am really looking forward to the increased functions that will be introduced with outlook for mac! I don't want to wait until 2011, but I will, impatiently.

I recently (2 months ago) switched my travel computer to MacBook Pro (mostly beacuse of the battery and I also wanted to know why everyone is so desperate about MacBooks). Well, I was disappointed as Mac is a good peice of technology but Mac's version of the office is definetely not to my liking. I purchased Mac Office 2008 and it was better. But when I installed the beta version of 2011 - a miracle happened, I started having a feeling that I am back to my regular favorite Windows Microsoft Office. Now I don't have any weird feeling when I need to use the office. Previously I would send a document to my Desktop PC, edit/compose it there and then send it back to my new MacBook. Now I don't have to do this any more. Everyhting is so easy and smooth.
Outllook - needs to be paid a separate attention as it is really, really great!
Guys, go ahead and install the new Mac Office 2011 when it is available.

Why I use Office for Mac
Well working in just about any business, MS Office file formats are the standard. I can't tell you how many time I hear, "Can you send that to me in Word or Excel?" It's almost a daily occurrence.
On top of that it's what I've been using for well over a decade now. I not sure I'd know where else to get the power and features to which I've grown accustom. I live my life in documents hence I spend my life in Office.
Can we make a request for Office 2012? Visio!! I am so tired of booting a VM for Visio. Please Please Please. I love that Outlook is coming back, but I need Visio.

From the time of the beginning. . .
Since version 1.0 of Microsoft Word (which came on two 360K, 5.25" floppy disks! ), I've used MS Office products in my marketing research, strategy and communications companies. Over time, it has helped me land $ millions in business, present new ideas, images and concepts at C-level in client companies, and has even stood up to the creation of a couple of books! Now, I'm writing my doctoral thesis (at age 59) on the Office for Mac Suite on the topic of distance learning. While the 'cloud' or open source software may offer some basic writing and presentation options, I still enjoy the ability to flip open the screen of my laptop just about anywhere, start up the Office software and get right to work. Thanks for keeping the good software coming for us career creative types!

Mac Office 2008 is efficient, can work with Office PC files seamlessly, but most off all it zooms along when running on the imac so is fun to use. I am doing my PhD and all the files have transferred with any issues. Looking forward to more innovations on the new 2011 Office for Mac.

An Apple for a Teacher
I haven't been able to get out of 4th grade. Actually, I've been teaching 4th grade now for 18 years and love it. The only way I can do this is through wonderful *productivity* tools such as Office for Mac. Really, I couldn't get my job done without it...I use it for newsletters (Word), classroom teaching (PowerPoint) and keeping grades (Excel). I am anxiously awaiting Office 2011. ...and I'd LOVE a new Apple for this teacher!

I've always been a user of Microsoft Office. When I acquired a Mac it was a no-brainer to use Office with my Mac as well. It is a versatile suite that allows me to fulfill the different tasks of my job with ease and efficiency. I have tested other similar software but nothing compares to Office. And since the Mac is now my default computer, Office for Mac remains my default software. And I appreciate greatly the fact that issues of compatibility of Mac Office files with PC Office files are practically nil. I am looking forward to the 2011 release.

Compatibility
As a consultant, it is essential that documents I produce are 100% compatible with clients who use Office. MacOffice gives me the best of both worlds - Office on a Mac. I don't worry about clients having problems opening files and I get to use a Mac native app rather than running Office in a virtual machine. Entourage also allows me to get email seamlessly form an Exchange server; and Document Connect makes using Sharepoint painless.
The only thing missing is Visio - add that and I can dump my VM running Win7 and Visio.

Why I Use Mac Office
Having switching to a Mac notebook very recently and wondering how I was going to do all the same tasks I did previously working in the industry as a School based Tech for the Education Department in Queensland.
I bought and installed Mac Office 2008 and it all fell into place, having to write documents and how to guides to creating presentaions for staff and then remote desktop to do tasks on the servers.
Entourage, I've set up for my work emails and everything just works!!!
My desktop PC is still Windows 7 with Office 2010, so to be able to now work on the same things on both platforms is so much easier.
So to Office 2011, looking forward to things being even easier.

Outlook is Promising
As part of my switch to Mac, I bought Office for Mac 2008. While I was ready for the learning curve coming with the switch, I was not quite ready to abandon 20+ years of "Office" experience.
Excel, Word, & Powerpoint in Office for Mac 2008 met and exceeded expectations. In contrast, I found Entourage was such a disappointment (as compared to Oultook), I knocked it off my dock and never use it.
With the inclusion of Outlook in Office for Mac 2011, I am looking forward to upgrading to this product.

Power to the People
Im a small business owner and got sick of all the viruses and issues with using a PC so i just bought an imac with Microsoft Office added. I have to say i would be lost without it as i use Excel and Word on a daily basis. I just watched the video for the new Office 2011 and I CANT WAIT to have Microsoft Outlook. I must say that is the only thing i miss about my PC.

Love the Mac.....but office for Mac needs some work
I am new to the world of Mac and am loving the versatility and performance of my Macbook. I am hesitant to bring it into our office as standard issue however as my experience with Office for Mac is not as endearing; limited screen views, awkward functionality, even in little things like dropping in a signature or using the formula bar in a spreadsheet. Looking forward to seeing how the new version of Office for Mac lives up to the high standard set by the Mac operating system and functionality.

Overcoming Challenges and surmounting obsticles
As an individual who has become "challenged" by the recent recession, I am going to be using Office to continue studying towards my MIS degree while I continue to seek new employment opportunity.
Using Word, I am able to quickly and efficiently create letters and papers and even blogs because of its second to none productivity enhancing features for editing, I often form my posts within it and then simply paste the results into the web-o-Sphere ... just like here … except that I must wait for its version 2010

I have used both PCs and MACs since 1986 when they were both were growing up. Nothing has been more productive to me than having my 4 lb mac book in concert with the full features of MS Office. I am looking forward to the launch of OFFICE11 and the plethora of upgrades and services that I will get out upgrade!

Cross Platform
I use Office for Mac to keep current on the Office Suite platform, for the key functions and features in Excel that are essential tools for business management, and in order to be able to exchange documents with PC users. While many of the alternatives for Word and Power Point are catching up or offer superior features, Excel is still best in class.

I am annoyed by people who think they can do better than Office, using poor substitutions. Office for Mac integrates all the essential software we need for business or pleasure. A computer w/o Office is incomplete. I look forward to seeing the new version!

Microsoft Office for MAC - It's the best!
I don't remember the date. However, I've been using Microsoft Office for MAC since the time when Microsoft first made the suite available for use on a MAC.
I'm really looking forward to the 2011 suite. I then can switch from Entourage to Outlook for my email software. When that occurs I will switch my internet carrier. As soon as I'm able to do that I'll be able to have one carrier for all my electronic needs (e.g. telephone, cell phone, television and internet). This will save me a bundle! Thank you Microsoft for making Outlook for MAC again!

I have been using Microsoft Office since I got my first Mac, The original MacIntosh. I used it for all the presentations and documents I produced while working as an engineer in a small aerospace company. Four Mac's later, and now working as a math teacher, I use it for all my tests, worksheets, letters, etc. that I have to produce. It interacts well with Math type as well as all the PC users as school. I would never be without it.

As a high school English teacher and an English grad student, I am always working on a document or power point. The comment feature of Word has maximized my time by allowing me to respond promptly and thoroughly to student papers, and power point is a must have for any teacher.

As a tutor for Cal. Mini-Corp and a college student my work load is immense that I need not just a strong computer to handle this, but an easy to use and a universally recognized software to handle all my needs. By having these tools not only will I succeed in reaching my goal as a teacher, I will be more effective in nurturing the young minds with the technology of the future will bring us!

I find Office for Mac invaluable, as I teach mainly online English lit courses and have done so for the past 6 years. In the early days, there were many glitches using the Mac. Many times I couldn't open studenss' work. Office fo Mac has solved all that. No more glitches.

I use office for because it allows me to integrate with my business clients more easily. I am able to share files, or if I don't have a mac handy I can use my presentation on a PC. While I like some of text options available on keynote, I have found that using Power Point allows me to function with less headaches and share information with PC's more effectively.
I have always used entourage over mail because it has many more features and is easier to customize.
It is a shame that office isn't available on the IPAD.

Such a gift to teachers
I work at a wonderful, progressive urban school in Massachusetts. I have all my lessons and activities saved, and it is easy to share documents since everybody has Word.
I display class notes on the projector in Notebook, visual quizzes on the class TV using Power Point... there is no end to the classroom applications of Microsoft Office. It is the only way I know of to save a document as a web page and publish right away. The variety of fonts, templates (awards, forms, etc) is exceptional. I use the drawing tools to create graphic organizers and special assignments for my kids. I don't know how I would cope without my Mac and software.

New Mac User, Old Office User
I had always been a PC user until this past January when I purchased a Macbook for college. When I was getting the Macbook, they had a deal on iWork, so I decided to try it out. Sadly, iWork did not work for me, and after numerous problems, I was begging for Office back. They say you never appreciate something until it's gone, and that turned out to be true with Office. Microsoft Office offers so many more options and in my opinion, Office is more user-friendly than Apple's package. My advice: go with Mac, stick with Office.

Reason for using Office for Mac
Hello, I use to have a windows machine and did alot of my research papers using Word. I am a teacher too and I have to type reports about students to their parents. Now that I own a Mac, Office is a great program to have to continue my research and communication.

Both at my past workplace and now at my volunteer position I have had to use Windows and Office - at home I have a iMac and I use Office for Mac because I can ! -I transfer all kinds of data between home and the Historical Society and I can work seamlessly at either end, but I have to admit I am much happier at home. Can't wait to update to 2011

I'm a vanilla flavored MS Office user on both PCs and Macs since it first came out. I'm also computer challenged with an attitude problem: I never read manuals. What I particularly like about MS Office is how well integrated its various components are and how easy it is to use. The only item on my MS Office wish list is to eliminate the few differences between the PC and Mac versions. It would be awfully nice if I couldn't tell which system I was using at the moment.

As an adjunct professor of anatomy, I use Office for Mac to prepare PowerPoint Presentations for my class, as well as examinations, and other presentations/handouts for my class. I also use Office to collaborate with other instructors in the department on various documents. I am looking forward to the enhanced collaborative abilities of Office for Mac 2011, as well as the replacement of entourage with Outlook.

Office for Mac is my go-to suite of tools!
I have been using Microsoft Office for Mac ever since MS Word 3.0 and Excel 1.1. I work with people who use both Macs and Windows systems. Being able to use a cross platform suite is essential to me and MS Office has worked flawlessly in that regard for all these years.
Office has been used to make resumes, cover letters, invoices, several presentations, research papers, you name it. Office for Mac has been my go-to suite of apps for all these years.
The document I am the most proud of making with Office for Mac was a NCAA Basketball Tourney tracking tool in Excel. The workbook featured several worksheets with linked cells. I tweaked it every year, adding new features.
I use Office for Windows 2007 as well but much prefer Office for Mac.
Keep up the good work MBU and looking forward to Office for Mac 2011, especially Outlook!

Flexibility, portability, compatibility, interoperability, and power
As an Engineer, I live and work in the PC world, Office for Mac allows me to create presentations, work on spreadsheets, and create other documents with ease and share documents between home and work.
As an instructor at a community college, I can shared my reference material from the Engineering world with my students. I can create documents that allows me to collaborate with other colleagues and students. Class room presentations can be made quickly and be shared with others as needed.
Office Mac allows me to create training materials for some of the community groups that I assist in, during my spare time.
I have a PC that I use as my data server, but the majority of my work is done on a Mac using Office 2008 for Mac.
Now only if Microsoft can solve the issue with the use of macros....

I love office mac. I was so happy when I bought my macbook and found out that there was office for it! It really helps me out in school. I'm studying to be a Mac technician currently! Office has really helped me out to study for class, type notes, do presentations and so much more! I don't know how I would get through school without it!!

Nothing like it.
I have been at university for 15 years. I have written essay after essay, thesis after thesis, article after article. There is simply nothing like Office--like Word--for writing large documents. It really is that simple. All the competition has been playing catch up since I was in grade school. And they are nowhere near closing the gap.

I'm really excited to hear about Office for Mac 2011. Unfortunately I just bought a new Macbook Pro and re-purchased the '08 version. However, I'm excited about upgrading. Office is a lifesaver because of its ease of use and compatibility. I used most of the Office suite in high school and college, and have become even more proficient at using these programs in the business world. Thanks for great products that keep getting better.

Use it all the time
I have to say that I use Office for school and work. I currently am getting my Masters in Public Relations and in my classes I am required to do presentations and write press kits. It is a huge help to be able to have all the programs and help documents I need for school in one place.

The joys of being able to share across platforms work with office for mac better than anything else. There is no sense in getting something that is almost as good as. . . just stick with the original and the benchmark, then you don't have to worry if it will work. you just know. Looking forward to the return of even more compatibility with office 2011.

I tried Office 2007 Windows XP in Fusion on my Mac. I found it clumsy and counter intuitive. I purchased Office 2008 and was able to use it immediately. A wonderful symbiosis of Microsoft and Apple!

Because it makes sense. In the business world...Microsoft Office is the premier suite. And when you work in a corporate environment, it's important to be compatible. More than that, Office for Mac is easy to use and efficient. And it keeps getting better, which makes using it easy to justify. On top of all that - the great new features I've been seeing in the 2011 update get me excited. There's nothing like using a product every day that has such careful attention to detail. It makes all the difference.

When I recently switched from a PC to a MAC I became frustrated by the MAC productivity suite. I purchased MAC 2008 so I could more easily edit my already Microsoft Office Documents. I got the best computer and added the best software! Thanks Office for MAC 2008!

Just Being Honest
I am a recent "switcher" and I do own a Macbook, one of the first programs I bought was Office for the Mac. As a former Windows user I did everything with Word & Powerpoint, as did most of my friends and family. The fact that Office is cross platform and does not require me to change file types to save files simplifies things and I like simple
I would LOVE to get my hands on the latest and greatest Macbook but unfortunately not in the budget, this promo is the perfect blend of getting the best Macbook as well as the best suite of software.

Entourage to the Rescue!
I am the president of our HOA and volunteer for a few AIDS charities in Phoenix. I get loads of email, have many appointments and tons of tasks and projects to prioritize and complete.
When I got a Mac, my life became a disorganized mess... that is, until I installed Office 2008 with Entourage.
Thanks to Entourage, I am back on track and able to focus on more important things, like getting things done.

Word is my favorite product of the Bunch. The results are clean, fast and easy. Excel allows us to manage huge amounts of data effortlessly, something we could not do before. Even Entourage, the weakest link of the suite, allows our users to communicate without dreaded file conversions, and we can use our Exchange server with integrated authentication and use all the groups and address lists available in the organization.
And as a bonus, we use Messenger to connect to our internal users via Microsoft Office Communicator Server 2007.

Office for Mac provides the features I need... Other suites seem to have come a long way, but still pale in comparison. I use for example "autonumbering" in "fields" and Office for Mac is the only one that provides this.

For interviews Power Point is invaluable. I present a short deck covering my vision and strategies to a perspective employer. I also create a single slide that I then print out and leave with a summary of what I presented.
Word
Resume, resume, resume, plan and simple. I attach my Word resume on all applications. I also use Word to write and edit all of my blog entries. (I am composing this message in Word now!) The Notebook layout is great for taking notes on possible job opportunities and new blog entries.
Excel
Tracking expenses is key when you're looking for work and Excel does this superbly. In some cases, I have also used it to show ROI charts for previous work I have completed.
All in all Office for Mac is an integral piece of my job hunt!

Presentations and such!
I work in a marketing department for a very large manufacturing company--and presentations are crucial! We choose to use none other than Powerpoint for Mac 2008. This allows us to make awesome presentations to awe future customers and to blow away our competition (they may use Powerpoint as well--but we're better at it ;D ...)
Along with Powerpoint, the whole Office 2008 suite is awesome, irreplaceable.
However! I don't have a Mac at home

MacBook: Fitting right into the WIndows Office!!
Last year, after a particularly frustrating Vista incident, I purchased a MacBook for personal use. I love my MacBook, and Office for Mac means I can take it from the rec room to boardroom. Having Office for Mac allows me to bring my MacBook to the office and easily collaborate with co-workers. The compatibility Office for Mac offers also means my clients and I can easily exchange documents with no converting issues. The added bonus of the Office Project Gallery in Word means that I can create documents that are better looking than anything I've ever seen on PC, but are PC completely friendly.

MacBook: Fitting right into the WIndows Office!!
Last year, after a particularly frustrating Vista incident, I purchased a MacBook for personal use. I love my MacBook, and Office for Mac means I can take it from the rec room to boardroom. Having Office for Mac allows me to bring my MacBook to the office and easily collaborate with co-workers. The compatibility Office for Mac offers also means my clients and I can easily exchange documents with no converting issues. The added bonus of the Office Project Gallery in Word means that I can create documents that are better looking than anything I've ever seen on PC, but are PC completely friendly.

It all starts with the UI, it combines the best of the Mac experience with a familiar Office feel. Outlook 2011 has to be one of the best moves ever made in the Office for Mac history and has been amazing even in Beta.

Word is the best document writer out there. From charts to layouts, Word can make some pretty sick documents.
PowerPoint - people always tell me how great my presentations are. This program helps me create clean presentations that are informative and fun.
Excel - If I have to make charts or crunch some large data, Excel does the job very well.
MS Office for Mac = I think it's a great program that helps unleash my creative and professional side.

I didn't choose Office for Mac... it chose me
(1) I've relocated so many times, from one state to another, over the past several years that I have actually inventoried my entire apartment on an Excel spreadsheet. Everything from my entire catalogue of CD's and DVD's to sweaters and shoes. I've used Excel because I needed to keep track of the value of everything I owned in case one of my many movers lost a box in between moves (by the way, this is a great way to get around their pennies-per-pound recovery value policy, but it takes painstaking detail to keep track of which items end up in which box).
(2) I use Entourage's calendar function to keep track of all of my important dates and activities - it's got all of my birthdays (I've never missed a birthday since), anniversaries, etc. I even have every single 'important' email I've ever received since I started using email saved on my Entourage, no kidding (although, I can't wait to move back to the Outlook on the 2011 version, which will hopefully not crash as often as my super-sized Entourage data files do - backing this stuff up is a whole separate issue, but that goes beyond the scope of Office).
(3) While not available on the Mac, I'm also a religious user of databases - I've in the past used Access to keep track of everything from my business communications logs to managing my personal portfolio of investments (harnessing the power of Access database programming to analyze my portfolio and keep me in line by helping me keep track of notes on why I made an investment in the first place). Will there ever be an Access for Mac???
(4) And... back to Excel, because that's probably what controls my life more than anything else. This is something I absolutely cannot live without. I maintain a custom monthly budgeting worksheet to track every penny of spending and to keep track of saving up for the all important 'vacation budget'. I have a spreadsheet that keeps track of all of my golf scores. Oh... and I really think you don't need TurboTax when you have Excel (I've got formulas that follow every rule of the Form 1040 - plus, when there's a tax rule change from year to year, I can see exactly what they are since I'm not relying on a 'black box' to simply spit out a number for me).
Even I find all of this quite excessive.. but like I said, I didn't choose Office.. it chose me. So, say what you want.. laugh at me, pity me, hate me... but you can't take my mojo from me.

As a professional working for the Red Cross, Office on Mac allows me to integrate my calendar and allows me to work on documents both at home and work seamlessly. Incredible platform, it allows me to use my laptop of choice with the office suite of my choice as well.

Over the years I've created more documents than I care to remember using Word, PowerPoint and Excel - including a published book. The Office suite is extremely capable and something that I would be lost without.
Since moving to the Mac I truly value the ability to collaborate with my colleagues using the compatibility afforded by Office for Mac. With the pending release of Office for Mac 2011 I'm looking forward to experiencing an even more capable tool, with deeper compatibility.

PowerPoint Movie?!
We took some snap shots of other teachers, cut out their heads, and created little cut out bodies in PowerPoint. Well, after about 1,500 PowerPoint slides we created a movie with audio, music, and even a fight scene! It was pretty amazing and we got a well deserved A for the project.

Thoughts arise and out comes Word. A document, a letter, an academic paper. All crafted with quality, layout and language improved.
Another thought and out comes PowerPoint. A few diagrams, pictures and bullets and my meaning is clear. Workflow, ideas, thoughts communicated.
Another thought and out comes Excel. My yearly projects clearly outlined, summed and approved. Rolling up, filtering and charts included.
And the world can read my work on a Mac, PC or online.

And boy, were they pissed.
"People of Earth!" the boomed, large and monolithic above the skies of our major cities. "We read your documents, and we have caught your viruses! Give us the cure, or we will remove your threat from the universe!"
PC users quailed... How could they remove the viruses? How could they work with already infected files? Some gnashed teeth, while yet others sat, cowed in their cubicle corners, waiting patiently for oblivion.
But then... I remembered that Office for Mac is, by nature, so much less vulnerable. I opened those files, copied and pasted the text, and safely stripped out the infectious intruders. Then I sent the documents back to the alien invaders.
They were pleased with the solution! Stock in both Apple and Microsoft skyrocketed, and orders were placed with Microsoft for enough copies of Office for Mac to keep their homeworld offices running for years to come.
True story. Office for Mac once helped me save the world.

Entourage - can't work without it!
I use Outlook at work as an IT Professional and there's no better way to feel productive than to continue using MS Entourage on my home machine. It'd be even better if I finally had a laptop to get work done on the move! ^^
Apple Mail, Address Book, iCal, and whatever little apps they're moving don't come close to the Entourage powerhouse - I can even do tasks in a way that makes sense!
If you're putting Macs in your office - you need MS Office.

Although the beautiful user interface of the Office for Mac line-up is definitely one to be boastful about, the ability to send my office documents to other machines without any discrepancies in the layout is testament to its utility on top of the software's stellar design.
It, without a doubt, makes for a seamless office experience when it comes to meddling with my documents.
I am definitely awaiting the next update.

The PC with Windows is a great office tool as we know. Now, we can share that same great experience of office, not have to worry about what works and compats.. and just get the job done.
Im trying to build my musical career up. I use office for my incomes and presentations based on my music. When creating an important keynote it has never let me down.

On top of that it's what I've been using for well over a decade now. I not sure I'd know where else to get the power and features to which I've grown accustom. I live my life in documents hence I spend my life in Office.

In a word:
As a consultant, it is essential that documents I produce are 100% compatible with clients who use Office. MacOffice gives me the best of both worlds - Office on a Mac. I don't worry about clients having problems opening files and I get to use a Mac native app rather than running Office in a virtual machine. Entourage also allows me to get email seamlessly form an Exchange server; and Document Connect makes using Sharepoint painless.
The only thing missing is Visio - add that and I can dump my VM running Win7 and Visio.

I bought and installed Mac Office 2008 and it all fell into place, having to write documents and how to guides to creating presentaions for staff and then remote desktop to do tasks on the servers.
Entourage, I've set up for my work emails and everything just works!!!
My desktop PC is still Windows 7 with Office 2010, so to be able to now work on the same things on both platforms is so much easier.
So to Office 2011, looking forward to things being even easier.

Outlook is Promising
Excel, Word, & Powerpoint in Office for Mac 2008 met and exceeded expectations. In contrast, I found Entourage was such a disappointment (as compared to Oultook), I knocked it off my dock and never use it.
With the inclusion of Outlook in Office for Mac 2011, I am looking forward to upgrading to this product.

I'm really looking forward to the 2011 suite. I then can switch from Entourage to Outlook for my email software. When that occurs I will switch my internet carrier. As soon as I'm able to do that I'll be able to have one carrier for all my electronic needs (e.g. telephone, cell phone, television and internet). This will save me a bundle! Thank you Microsoft for making Outlook for MAC again!

Such a gift to teachers
I display class notes on the projector in Notebook, visual quizzes on the class TV using Power Point... there is no end to the classroom applications of Microsoft Office. It is the only way I know of to save a document as a web page and publish right away. The variety of fonts, templates (awards, forms, etc) is exceptional. I use the drawing tools to create graphic organizers and special assignments for my kids. I don't know how I would cope without my Mac and software.

Office has been used to make resumes, cover letters, invoices, several presentations, research papers, you name it. Office for Mac has been my go-to suite of apps for all these years.
The document I am the most proud of making with Office for Mac was a NCAA Basketball Tourney tracking tool in Excel. The workbook featured several worksheets with linked cells. I tweaked it every year, adding new features.
I use Office for Windows 2007 as well but much prefer Office for Mac.
Keep up the good work MBU and looking forward to Office for Mac 2011, especially Outlook!

As an instructor at a community college, I can shared my reference material from the Engineering world with my students. I can create documents that allows me to collaborate with other colleagues and students. Class room presentations can be made quickly and be shared with others as needed.
Office Mac allows me to create training materials for some of the community groups that I assist in, during my spare time.
I have a PC that I use as my data server, but the majority of my work is done on a Mac using Office 2008 for Mac.
Now only if Microsoft can solve the issue with the use of macros....
