I utilized Office for Mac to create a PowerPoint presentation for class. It was a blast as I was demonstrating what NOT to do in creating PowerPoint slides for conveying information. The PowerPoint for Mac that I used on my home computer worked effortlessly with the PowerPoint at school. It was great!

Everything under the sun!
I use Word, Excel, Entourage and Powerpoint almost every day in my research, and at home. Work stuff is boring... writing papers, analyzing data and making fabulous charts and graphs, and giving talks with powerpoint. The fun stuff is at home: incredible interactive budget with lots of yummy nested functions and snazzy colorful conditional formats (Excel), an encrypted, password protected journal for my teenager (Word), colorful personal calendars for each of my 3 kids which include chore duties for the week (Entourage) and endless "movies" that my kids can edit and add their own images too (Powerpoint). They feel like professionals, and my 8-year-old had the best presentations in 3rd grade (OK, perhaps a slight over exaggeration)

Creative? Its getting things done for me
I use Office 2008 on my Macbook to organize my 15k+ contacts and work on projects. I think the projects feature is the best part of the application because of my ability to link contacts and events, organize meetings, share files. I'm looking at my emails in Entourage all day long. Organizing projects around Entourage is the way I get things done. I have literally 10+ different projects going on simultaneously. From my work life and my personal life, I keep it together using Entourage.

I've used Office for Everything!
I'm a graduate student, and I use Office on a daily basis to design my experiments, write papers, analyze data, and generate compelling presentations. We have quarterly 5 minute presentation competitions in my lab and I have won 3 of the last 4 with my powerpoint presentations. I look forward to taking advantage of the new tools in Office 2011.

Life Cycle Calculator
I created an individualized life cycle calculator for a heavily used consumer product utilizing Excel:Mac 2008. The calculator takes into account the user's geographic location and household consumption habits to determine the complete life cycle impacts of the user's product choices. Of course, all of the preliminary research was recorded and reported in Word:Mac 2008, and the results of the project were presented in Power Point:Mac 2008, but the real meat and bones of the project took place in Excel. This spreadsheet turned out to be one of the largest I have ever created. As far as I know this is the first time a consumer product has received this level of life cycle analysis in this amount of individualized detail.

Can't live without Office for Mac
I use the entire Office suite daily for my work at the University, be it from creating professional looking business letters to interactive presentations. The Office for Mac suite is an essential tool that allows me to produce my best work. I created and packaged my entire third year binder using Office tools and got a personal commendation from the University Provost for producing one of the best binders he'd ever read. Thanks Office for Mac!

Animation!
Once we had to create a animated story using any of the available tech to us. Most students created Flash and actual video footage that was later poorly processed in post-production. PowerPoint and it's animation/transition features allowed me create a story with polished visual very quickly and easily. This allowed me more time to work on a more intricate storyline than most of the other students. Needless to say, I did get an A+ on that assignment!

As a theater major in college, I'm always looking for ways to become more and more creative and grow my creative mindset.
I do a plethora of tech-directing and PowerPoint makes it easy for me to create step by step production presentations for Production Meetings.
Excel makes life so easy with its intuitive calculations, which I can use for every piece of equipment I need.
I couldn't see myself in this field of study without Office:Mac2008, which is why I can't wait to get my hands on that fresh copy of Office:Mac2011.

I use Officeformac for everything! Both of my boys (one even elementary age) do their projects on them & even my youngest is quite proficient with his presentations, report writing- etc...
What I really love- is just cutting and pasting info I need to save for late and remember to do, I save it by date so I know if I missed it or need 2 check it!

Yearbook Page Layouts saved as 300 DPI JPEGs from PowerPoint for Mac
Acting as a yearbook editor for my son's school, I composed yearbook page layouts in Power Point, then was able to save them as hi-resolution, print-quality (300 DPI) single-image JPEGs which could be uploaded to the publisher's web site. This ability to dial-in the output resolution was unique to the Mac version of Power Point -- the comparable Windows version was locked for 96-DPI output.
I have used Microsoft Office in my engineering career for over 24 years. At the office I use MS Office 2007 for Windows. At home, and for consulting, I use MS Office 2008 for the Mac -- it gives me the abilty to create windows-compatible documents in the operating environment of my choice. I am looking forward to Office 2011 for the Mac for a more comparable user interface (thought still Mac-like) when switching between the Windows and Mac versions of the Office products.

I have used PPT to prepare multiple presentations for use in Camtasia presentations, created grading templates and document logs with excel and multiple handouts using Word. The document log project for my students has made a significant difference in our program structure after it was adopted system wide.

It always about the Power Point
It usually comes done to a dramatic presentation before a group of you peers or teachers, but on the flip side you can't get there without the spreadsheets and word processing power of the Office for mac suite. My creative story comes from a physics lab I had to complete. The lab was pretty straight forward but for some reason I wanted to "experiment" so I went beyond the scope of the questions and created tests to prove a hypothesis. It ended up being very long with graphs automagically presented from all the data. Then I wrote and styled the results... I was embarrassedly called out for "now this how you do it" but it was so much fun and the ease with which I could professionally display my results and present my ideas was amazing.

Perfect For Lab Reports!
I'm taking a college Physics class and we have to make weekly lab reports. Word and Excel play a huge part in those reports. My partners and I use Excel to store the data we collect during the experiments because it allows us to easily organize our information into charts and graphs. When we write up the report, Word allows us to import the Excel data directly into the body of the paper and even label inserted pictures of the equipment we used. Office makes our reports look impressive and professional.

My Creative Use
I used Excel in Office for Mac 2008 to document all the computers in our domain including the date they were put into service. Then I auto set the cell next to that date to push out 6 years using a formula like this "=DATE(YEAR(N65)+6,MONTH(N65),DAY(26))". After that I used conditional formatting to tell if the cell value was less than today, to turn the cell red. That way, we can easily scroll through our workstation list and view what computers are ready to be replaced and when.
This has helped in numerous situations for budget planning and replacement of computers. It even looks good when I present the current workstation list to the board for budget proposals.

I discovered my creativity right through the Technology Office for Mac
The Office for Mac applications, help me design my online daily packages and prints, as well as the logo of my company. Thanks to the simplicity of apprentice programs use to develop my artistic ability with technology, thus eliminating the contribution to the design on paper recycling. With products like this thousands of people and companies around the world can function in daily life in their respective places. Very soon I will be launching my first collection of packages, designed in one of its programs. All my logos and designs are created in OFFICE for MAC without the need for other programs much more complex and expensive.
First, I use Word 2008 often to write blog posts. Even though the online editors have a lot of functionality, I can't resist using Word. Second, use Word frequently to write requirements documents, which are a bit creative, for work. Third, I'm starting work on a book in Word. Fourth, I enjoy using PowerPoint for Mac to create great looking presentations. It's always fun to wow the crowd with great looking slides.

Office is great for things other than just plain documents!
I used office for mac to create an entire website mock-up for a friend's band. Office was way easier than using traditional mock-up programs because of all the built-in editing tools that are all combined into one program. The best part is, when I got the mockups complete, I had office generate the basic HTML for me, and I was able to edit it from there into exactly what I needed. Office for Mac probably saved me 20 hours of work overall!

Used Word for Mac to create my stunning resume
Simple used a table and some design sense to layout a simple yet stunning resume. The intuitive user interface made it a matter of minutes.
Lots of sensibly used white space and two great fonts made it all the more better. Word for Mac never came in the way of letting me accomplish my task.

How I am creative with Office for Mac
I've recently started creating slide show presentations with PowerPoint to showcase family photos in a fun and entertaining way. The transitions, animations, and slide themes have really given me the ability to show off my wife's photography in a fun and exciting way that the rest of the family enjoys. Word for Mac is my default word processor and I always am able to create amazing documents with great layouts. I also use Word for personal creative writing projects and I am always able to create exactly what I want.

Getting along with Office 2008 for Mac and Power Mac G5
I have first used Mac when it was in its infancy (1975) and then transferred to Windows because of various reasons. Recently my son abandoned his "Power Mac G5" with dual processor because the IBM processor of G5 is not compatible to Word for Windows like the new Mac Intel processor. My son and his mother both now own a Mac Pro each.
I took the challenge to bring the Power Mac G5, back to life. After much blogging and searching I found that Open-Office could be used without much drama. I used that for a while but found that every time I have to reformat the document; when it is originally created in Word for Windows.
Later on I came in touch of MACTOPIA and installed the Trial Version of Office for Mac 2008 for 30 days.
During the trial periods I have discovered all the amazing power of Office for Mac 2008 and also its compatibility with Power Mac G-5.
I have purchased the Office for Mac 2008 and am a happy user of the Power Mac G5 with Office for Mac 2008.
I believe I should win the competition and more for the amazing journey with Power Mac G5 and Office for Mac.

PowerPoint Bonanza
My PowerPoint presentation on teaching methods included a variety of movies (FLV, mov, VOB, and mpg), simulations, web sites, and URL games. In the past, much could only have been described in bullet lists and the others opened outside PowerPoint, making the presentation awkward as I opened Real Player, DVD, Quick Time Player. and URLs.
No more!
Office 2008, PowerPoint seamlessly ran all the movies. Quick Time captured website applications, turning them into movies that I ran in PowerPoint.
Even experienced PowerPoint users were amazed at the quality of the presentation and the capability of MAC Office.

...only with the Windows Office. Creativity doesn't mean yuppie art, just some quick pizazz on a Word document, or making an RFP look a little more professional, or making an Excel spreadsheet look like it came off from fancier business software...
...these kinds of posts are really insane, and if you want creativity, please - just make the Mac Office 95% like the Windows counterpart. When it comes to business creativity, the Windows Office is my lifeline - not the inferior Mac Office.

Alternate Energy Assignments
As a returning student, I wanted a tool that would work will regardless of the OS or applications. The Mac office is great!! I can take an electronic test and add all of the information from the various files, so that I don't have to do this in writing (not my strong suit).
So - for this test, I started with a word document, added tables - then performed some calculation in excel and moved them into the word document. Okay for a couple things I needed other Apple software...I used the picturing taking ability to add some information from other sources. Okay, I also enjoy the interface (having used both Windows and Mac's.

Well, I use all of the products including PowerPoint but I love using Word for Mac for my publishing needs. I had to publish a brochure, promotional poster and handouts for my school's orientation and welcoming ceremony. Needless to say, everyone noticed and gave me compliments for the design. Of course, I couldn't take all the credit. I loved using the backgrounds and colourful and eye-catching bullet points.

Thesis writing
The styles management tools in Office 2008 felt way better to me when it was released than their Windows Office counterparts. I was able to manage writing my thesis very easily with these tools, worrying more about the content than the presentation, without fear of how it would look once finished. That was more than helpful, it avoided much of the stress I saw others drowning into.

Getting creative with PowerPoint is in creating effective visuals - that made me fall in love with Power Point in the first place! I use animation and graphics capabilities of PowerPoint to bring my slides to LIFE! Making the President Look Good
I work for a massage therapy school with eleven campuses throughout the U.S. Each campus has its own president and they all answer to the corporate office in New Jersey. This year for the President's Round Table meeting, our president was asked to give a 45 minute presentation on the student services and career services/continuing education departments here in Chicago.
The department heads there really had some exciting ideas but didn't know how to accomplish them so they came to me, as I'm known as the tech guru around the office. As we talked about their goals for the presentation, it became apparent their ambitions outstripped their abilities. In the end, I did most of the leg work in getting the presentation together. We filmed interviews with various staff and faculty members, recorded music from the student body and carefully crafted everything into a 45 minute presentation with embedded audio and video.
I packaged up the presentation, put it on a flash drive for the president and sent him off to New Jersey. The other presidents and the corporate staff thought it was great - they even started singing along as Sinatra crooned out, "Chicago (That Toddlin' Town)." Our president was thrilled, the presentation was a huge success and all he had to do was open a file and press F5.

Vacations + Excel!
When I take group trips with my friends, it's often pretty hard to split the bills evenly. Restaurants really don't take multiple credit cards, people forget to bring enough money, etc.
We planned a group trip to Cape Cod last month. To escape the financial headaches of how-much-do-I-owe-you, I created an Excel spreadsheet for people to fill out as the trip progressed, detailing what item was covered by who for who at what individual cost. I set up a mini table on the side that calculated exactly who owed who money at that point in time, so when we got ready to say goodbye, we knew exactly how much money needed to be exchanged instead of having to sit down calculating out receipts. I would optimize it a bit more next time, but I definitely loved having it!

Office for Mac would help me sell my products!
I work for a company that sells to contractors and home owners. When they step foot in our showroom they need to see products, spec sheets, and information regarding the items for sale. Using Office for Mac I would design new fliers and promotions to help sell inventory and create easy to read fliers for our customers. Currently I have a PC with only Word, Excel and Powerpoint but it is an older version that doesn't have much support for what the new Office for Mac can do. My current PC is on it's last legs and doesn't help me generate what I am looking for. Having Office for Mac would allow me to use new tools like Entourage to keep track of my items with my hectic schedule. I like using lists to keep track of what I need to do and having Entourage there to help would be excellent. Being a small business we are looking at expanding in the near future and the use of Office Live workspace to help share our files virtually would be a tremendous help to share our files safely and securely in a streamlined process. I hope I get a chance to work with Office for Mac 2008 in the future and I can't wait for 2011 to roll out. I know it is going to be awesome!

Creative ways I would love to use this new Mac ;)
I am the communications coordiantor for the Global Education Initiative and alot of our members are mac savvy. There is a large amount of time that I spend on the computer and will be starting to make a pamphlet for promoting our cause, I would love to have this mac in order to create the best and most eye catching pamphlet in order to find and catch the eye of more supporters. I'm a teacher, and in my school we've taught the students (and teachers) that an easy way in which to create images for use in videos is to create a slide and then export it as an image. There are so many options for creating nice title, credit, or other slides that use custom colors, fonts, and image backgrounds when creating them in PowerPoint.

Children's Book
I am currently an unpublished children's book writer. I taught 5th grade last year, and I wanted feedback from my students on the draft I was working on. I layered the illustrations with the text on Power Point, hooked up my MacBook on a projector, and presented my "digital" book on the screen. It was a great way for the students to see me in the creation stage of writing, which helps them as writers... and I got the feedback I needed to move forward. It got even better because most of my students opted to use Power Point to present their World Studies projects. Their main reasons were that by opting to use Power Point, they were able to streamline their research and creation of the presentation in the computer lab.

Word rocks for editing eBooks. The find and replace feature is invaluable for fixing typos caused by OCR software that runs amok when you are converting old print books into digital formats.
Also, it's really useful for converting and cleaning up other text files (.txt, .rtf, etc.) that aren't that good at wrapping paragraph text because they use page breaks and line breaks with reckless abandon.
The obscure features of Word often prove the most valuable to me.

Pecha Kucha with PowerPoint...
We hosted a Pecha Kucha (see http://www.pecha-kucha.org/what) style event with 6 presenters from all over the world. The presenter from Sweden couldn't travel to the US because of the volcanic ash cloud last April, so she e-mailed me her PowerPoint, with audio files embedded in each slide. I assembled each of their shows, from Keynotes, .pdfs and actual MS PPTs, into one continuous show. It took some formatting and fiddling, but the show went off without a hitch, using auto-play. Hooray!

Quick cover-up
We needed to create some stickers to cover some incorrect information on a product. We had some address labels available, and Word for Mac with built-in label templates was the best tool to create a stylish 'coverup' quickly, creatively, and effectively!

Drawing in Word
To be certain, I know what I'm doing - using Photoshop and Illustrator, yet some of the best stick-figure work I have EVER done has been with the drawing tools in MS Word for Mac. Don't get me wrong - it's not just for stick-figures - there are some powerful photo editing tool in Word too, but consider, if they got the details right, imagine how good the big guns are!

MS WORD for newsletter and mailers
I work in a state legislators office, and i use pretty much word for all of our newsletters and mailers. They have routinely tried to get me to use adobe products but i just feel word has the most options and the most user friendly.
generally i format and type the entire project in word, and then for electronic versions i create a pdf out of the word document.

How to use
It would be nice to really have an easy and elegant way to create a project, assign tags to every type of document that is a part, and be able to search for it in spotlight. In addition it would be nice to be able to easily organize these into a individual folders, share them with colleagues online, see todo's statuses online and in exchange, and finally link common resources used in each project (images, calendars, contacts, etc).

When I can spare 10 minutes during the day, I have created a somewhat library of articles that I am writing to add to my blog. Office for Mac has helped me with sorting these articles based on topic and helped me remember that they exist and to finish them. Thanks for making such a beautiful product.

My Office Family tree
I used Word, Excel and Powerpoint to create a family tree that stretched back almost 100 years for my family. I did all my research and compiled it in excel at home. I designed the layouts and documents to form the tree in word and then created a presentation with powerpoint to show it to my entire family. Everyone loved the work I had done and it meant a lot to my family to know what our history is and I could have never gotten it done with out office!

Creative - PowerPoint
We needed to put together an AV show and presentation for our school board, so I used PowerPoint for the multiple slide presentation. I used one of PP's newer slide transitions and tried my best to limit the amount of information per slide, consistent with best practices for presentations.
It worked great and looked and sounded terrific. I'm looking forward to increased performance (hint, hint), the new UI, and Outlook in Office for Mac 2011! Can't wait.

power point and painting
have zero artistic skills. i made a logo that i painted on a circular piece of wood for a parade float.
using PPT to crank out the logo and text i then projected the text on the circular piece of wood, traced over it and then painted inside the lines!

I have utilized the entire Office for Mac 2008 to create my company from scratch. I own a staffing company and have used Excel to track business, PowerPoint to present my company and to give presentations to candidates seeking skills to obtain positions, Entourage to manage our company email and Word to write candidate resumes, contracts for companies using our services. Multimedia presentation for performance
We are a small nonprofit professional theatre company, and in addition to the myriad of administrative tasks Office for Mac handles for us, we use it creatively, too. Not only in obviously ways, like writing scripts, compiling props lists and tracking sound cues, but we've also used PowerPoint to compose a multimedia presentation combining images, songs and other audio to create the context and backdrop for a piece about Martin Luther King Jr's acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Starting with the Brown v. Education Supreme Court decision of 1954, we tracked milestones of the civil rights movement leading to MLK's acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. With the help of PowerPoint, we were able to achieve a depth of resonance and impact which we otherwise would not have been able to afford.

I currently use my mac:office in conjunction with mimio smart boards in the classroom in the MS-Delta region. The Mac version of Office with its notebook feature really helps in creating fun & informative notes than can then be presented to a classroom or shared amongst the students so they can not only see the lecture outline but also see and hear added media within the notes.
When teaching economics in the classroom the ease at which students are able to jump up and take command of a presentation or figure out a function on the board with Excel is a true testament to how well the functions and overall layout was designed. The software may not have been from the get go intended to be used with smart boards but even so it does work really well.

Use of Office
I use MS Office because it is easy to use and I have produced numerous prayer aids, such as aids for praying the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, prayer cards, birthday cards, feastday cards,, etc., and just plain informational handouts with good color pictures and notes.
I frequently scan images into a document, BW and Color or a mixture. :Last year I did a booklet on the origin and history of each persons name in my family, with pictures and graphics. It was enjoyed by all. And I enjoyed doing it.

Food Forum
Office was invaluable providing the tools for a Food Forum presentation for an audience of 250. Creative ideas for community gardens were shared and explored. Our community now has the addition of a community allotment garden with some 65 garden plot growing a wonderful variety of local crops which will soon be harvested. As Power Point Program is being prepared to show the stages from ground preparation to planting to harvesting. Office has made it possible for this success and we look forward to adding even more plots next year!

Industry Specific Approach
I work in the sports & entertainment industry, specifically within a department that uses Excel to a heavy degree. Although I haven't created it yet, I imagine myself attempting to create a spreadsheet that allows me to condense and organize specific client information in a more efficient and create way. At the current time, I receive this information in a multitude of ways and in just as many different formats. This spreadsheet would create an industry standard that I could then send out to all the contacts I work with throughout the nation and allow them to work with me to make this data input spreadsheet even more effective.
Always looking to improve and become more efficient and Office for Mac helps this in a big way.

Using Office for Mac to Teach the Teachers!
We were lucky enough to add some Mac Mini's to our computer suite and as a result the teachers had to have a little bit of help to aquaint themselves with this new resource. We wanted to give the children the best opportunity to be able to work with all that is available on PC's and Macs. I had to devise a Powerpoint presentation to show them how to do the basics on the mac and being able to do this effortlessly with Office for Mac allowed me to do it all on the same computer. So amazingly easy and effective, it got them all interested because it was a brand they knew and could let them make that leap! looking forward to seeing the new suite too!

Easiness to use and simple tools a la photo editor for Office would make me more creative.
One thing that brings more freedom to be creative is if you could add a simple photo editor to Office that does not copy files into it a la iPhoto. Simple programs like MS Photo Editor or Picture Manager in PC wold were heavily used by me. It would make communication with pictures way easier with PC world as well as with MS Word, Powerpoint etc. Photoshop etc are good tools but way to fancy and expensive for me who is not professional on the field of photography. Add something like this and I see added value in Office 2011! Specially as Mac does not have that kind of a free simple photo editors available. Now I use Preview to resize pictures and Picasa 3. I have also tired IPhoto and AdSee but miss those simple old PC photo programs. Add this and I see new ways to be creative with Office. Sometimes less is more.
And sometimes more is better if to compare Powerpoint in Mac to Powerpoint in PC (what was OK but not so helpful and creativity enabling as Mac version!).
Word and Powerpoint in Office 2008 leave room for creativity. Hopefully 2011 edition will be better with compatible Outlook. But I miss Access that PC used to have. Add this and simple photo editor and I would see load of added value and probably will buy new version.

Weekend Worship
Every weekend we are able to lead worship more effectively at our church because we are able to use both Word for Mac and PowerPoint for Mac. PowerPoint slides containing "fill-in-the-blanks" material for the message are projected at the front of the sanctuary. These help guide worshippers in following a Word for Mac produced outline of the weekend message that is in a program.
Together these tools assist persons to worship every weekend!

I am a REALTOR, Insurance Producer, Mary Kay consultant and full time student. I have been a Microsoft Product user for years on my PC. We swapped to Macs 2 years ago and I was delighted to find Microsoft for Mac! I do a lot of Power Points for listing presentations, and fliers for all my businesses. I am able to produce professional looking documents from brochures to fliers and everything in between. I could not survive without my Microsoft products on Mac.

An Honest Answer
Well . . . I just use Word for writing prose.
One doesn't do fancy presentations when sending stories to editors/publishers. They just want your story in 12pt Times New Roman with their specified margins and line spacing.
I might, however, have to create some charts and tables to keep things organized as my writing career grows and I'm sure I will make good use of those features then.

Pretty much everything ... and then some
Each thing I do seems, to me at least, to be creative but one thing that has been very useful tracking my PSA -- from suspicion of a problem through apparently successful treatment and the recurrence and metastasis of the prostate cancer. The data and a chart that updates automatically both appear on one page so that I am to share the details of a 13 year history easily with appropriate medical professionals.

My employer recently looked to change a contacted vendor, and it was a tough sell to the bosses. I took the numbers for all the different vendors in our area that provide this service and made them into a graph, then made a presentation for my boss to show his bosses, and we successfully switched to the vendor we wanted. It was a great change that saved us a lot of money, and the service we are now provided is exponentially better than the old one whose
pice increased by 140%.

The publishing gallery is great! I've used it to publish a newsletter for our local chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. And I've used it to produce the programs for our school concerts. Office for Mac makes documents look like I paid a desktop publisher to do them. Creative Project with Office for Mac
I receive PowerPoint presentations from 37 different Schools. These presentations are converted and incorporated into our Educational Access television broadcast.
The presentations arrive in my Entourage Email as attachments. They originate from users of both Mac and PC platforms. These presentations are created, saved, sent and opened using several different release versions of the Microsoft Office software, yet the compatibility feature found in Office 2008 for Mac allows for a seamless experience that results in a stable work-flow for receiving, converting and creating the files needed for our television broadcast.

In a 2009 Fiskars grant application, one part was the following assignment: Creative Inspiration/Vision (any format): Use words, pictures, video, art, music, whatever is most “you” to answer the question below. We would like to encourage you to think broadly and creatively. There are no limits to the creativity of this response. Draw, paint, scrap, sew, tape, glue, tear, print, edit, or record your response to the question. Your artistic talent is not an issue (and will not be judged), so don’t sweat it! Let your creation speak volumes! Think outside the box….we aren’t setting restrictions. In an inter-galactic exchange program, an alien is sent to Earth to learn of our ways. The United Nations chooses you to explain how gardening makes you feel. Express it non-verbally because, of course, he doesn't speak your language. I used clip art, project photos, and text to put together a PPT presentation accompanied by music by the Carpenters and burned it to CD. I did not get a grant, but I was proud of my creation that I submitted.

PowerPoint Magic
I use both PowerPoint and Word to build training presentations and training hand-outs. I relish the fact that I can create a standard PPT slide template that meets our organization's standards and then create new content instead starting from ground zero every time. The animation features are a great help too when you're trying to relate content that isn't static. The seamless flow from Word to PPT and back is also a real plus.

I have used Word as my publishing editor to put together a magazine style report with coer picture, title inlays, various object layouts, etc. It actually worked out pretty well. I output the final result to a pdf and print multiple copies from there.

Custom Navigation in PowerPoint
A few of the common problems with presentations I sit through at work are text heavy slides, lack of structure, and indeterminable presentation length. As an audience member, these things can be frustrating.
One of the creative solutions I employ is a special navigation bar I create with simple animations that keeps my audience on topic and helps pinpoint how far along I am in the presentation.
I'm often complimented for this simple innovation. PowerPoint makes it easy!

I have created custom shipping labels with my son's Army Unit Logo to send him weekly care packages when he was in Iraq and Afghanistan. I made custom business cards for my wife to use with her teaching job and book writing capers. I also use to create headers for a swim team bulletin board.

Getting creative with OFM v 2008
In the version of 2008, Entourage was there but I was having a tad bit of trouble with it crashing. There were a lot of great things to do with Entourage and don't know what it was. Therefore, I hooked vmware and use microsoft outlook. So glad outlook is coming with 2011. I really enjoy OFM and helps me meet my goals daily.

Comment title says it all - I'm generally not a graphically creative type of guy. I'm pretty good as an idea guy, but I struggle to use even a box of crayons most days... lol...
That being said, Office templates are a great starting point, as are my company's templates and other tools. When I don't have these crutches to help me along, I can easily find other templates, transfer them from my Office for the PC on my other computer, or go to my old standby - using Word and Entourage to describe with words (1000 of them = 1 picture, no?). From there, my creative team can help out - and Office helps us to work as a team to accomplish great things!

I used Office For Mac to prepare a Powerpoint presentation....
...that helped me get two laws amended to increase election integrity in NC. One was in 2008 to add requirements that an election pilot would have to follow state and federal elections laws and regulations which the pilot was not required to follow before 2008. The second was to add a requirement for public hearings on the same election pilot in 2011. My better-funded opponents were steamed, but my OFM PPT presentations were much better than their presentations.

The features in Word for Mac makes creating newsletters, menus, and business brochures easy. The Publishing Layout especially stands out, letting you precisely manage all the elements. One could also get creative with the different charts and graphs in Excel. I've even seen a comic do his act using PowerPoint!

Yearbook Page Layouts saved as 300 DPI JPEGs from PowerPoint for Mac
I have used Microsoft Office in my engineering career for over 24 years. At the office I use MS Office 2007 for Windows. At home, and for consulting, I use MS Office 2008 for the Mac -- it gives me the abilty to create windows-compatible documents in the operating environment of my choice. I am looking forward to Office 2011 for the Mac for a more comparable user interface (thought still Mac-like) when switching between the Windows and Mac versions of the Office products.

Getting along with Office 2008 for Mac and Power Mac G5
I took the challenge to bring the Power Mac G5, back to life. After much blogging and searching I found that Open-Office could be used without much drama. I used that for a while but found that every time I have to reformat the document; when it is originally created in Word for Windows.
Later on I came in touch of MACTOPIA and installed the Trial Version of Office for Mac 2008 for 30 days.
During the trial periods I have discovered all the amazing power of Office for Mac 2008 and also its compatibility with Power Mac G-5.
I have purchased the Office for Mac 2008 and am a happy user of the Power Mac G5 with Office for Mac 2008.
I believe I should win the competition and more for the amazing journey with Power Mac G5 and Office for Mac.

No more!
Office 2008, PowerPoint seamlessly ran all the movies. Quick Time captured website applications, turning them into movies that I ran in PowerPoint.
Even experienced PowerPoint users were amazed at the quality of the presentation and the capability of MAC Office.

...only with the Windows Office. Creativity doesn't mean yuppie art, just some quick pizazz on a Word document, or making an RFP look a little more professional, or making an Excel spreadsheet look like it came off from fancier business software...
...these kinds of posts are really insane, and if you want creativity, please - just make the Mac Office 95% like the Windows counterpart. When it comes to business creativity, the Windows Office is my lifeline - not the inferior Mac Office.

Alternate Energy Assignments
So - for this test, I started with a word document, added tables - then performed some calculation in excel and moved them into the word document. Okay for a couple things I needed other Apple software...I used the picturing taking ability to add some information from other sources. Okay, I also enjoy the interface (having used both Windows and Mac's.

Making the President Look Good
The department heads there really had some exciting ideas but didn't know how to accomplish them so they came to me, as I'm known as the tech guru around the office. As we talked about their goals for the presentation, it became apparent their ambitions outstripped their abilities. In the end, I did most of the leg work in getting the presentation together. We filmed interviews with various staff and faculty members, recorded music from the student body and carefully crafted everything into a 45 minute presentation with embedded audio and video.
I packaged up the presentation, put it on a flash drive for the president and sent him off to New Jersey. The other presidents and the corporate staff thought it was great - they even started singing along as Sinatra crooned out, "Chicago (That Toddlin' Town)." Our president was thrilled, the presentation was a huge success and all he had to do was open a file and press F5.

Vacations + Excel!
We planned a group trip to Cape Cod last month. To escape the financial headaches of how-much-do-I-owe-you, I created an Excel spreadsheet for people to fill out as the trip progressed, detailing what item was covered by who for who at what individual cost. I set up a mini table on the side that calculated exactly who owed who money at that point in time, so when we got ready to say goodbye, we knew exactly how much money needed to be exchanged instead of having to sit down calculating out receipts. I would optimize it a bit more next time, but I definitely loved having it!

Also, it's really useful for converting and cleaning up other text files (.txt, .rtf, etc.) that aren't that good at wrapping paragraph text because they use page breaks and line breaks with reckless abandon.
The obscure features of Word often prove the most valuable to me.

Starting with the Brown v. Education Supreme Court decision of 1954, we tracked milestones of the civil rights movement leading to MLK's acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. With the help of PowerPoint, we were able to achieve a depth of resonance and impact which we otherwise would not have been able to afford.

When teaching economics in the classroom the ease at which students are able to jump up and take command of a presentation or figure out a function on the board with Excel is a true testament to how well the functions and overall layout was designed. The software may not have been from the get go intended to be used with smart boards but even so it does work really well.

I frequently scan images into a document, BW and Color or a mixture. :Last year I did a booklet on the origin and history of each persons name in my family, with pictures and graphics. It was enjoyed by all. And I enjoyed doing it.

Easiness to use and simple tools a la photo editor for Office would make me more creative.
And sometimes more is better if to compare Powerpoint in Mac to Powerpoint in PC (what was OK but not so helpful and creativity enabling as Mac version!).
Word and Powerpoint in Office 2008 leave room for creativity. Hopefully 2011 edition will be better with compatible Outlook. But I miss Access that PC used to have. Add this and simple photo editor and I would see load of added value and probably will buy new version.

An Honest Answer
One doesn't do fancy presentations when sending stories to editors/publishers. They just want your story in 12pt Times New Roman with their specified margins and line spacing.
I might, however, have to create some charts and tables to keep things organized as my writing career grows and I'm sure I will make good use of those features then.

My signature creative slideshow thematic is:
Make a Photo slide to introduce each topic; then dim the photo image and superimpose the text over top of the dimmed image. Add some action for text emphasis. Great presentations.

The presentations arrive in my Entourage Email as attachments. They originate from users of both Mac and PC platforms. These presentations are created, saved, sent and opened using several different release versions of the Microsoft Office software, yet the compatibility feature found in Office 2008 for Mac allows for a seamless experience that results in a stable work-flow for receiving, converting and creating the files needed for our television broadcast.

Custom Navigation in PowerPoint
One of the creative solutions I employ is a special navigation bar I create with simple animations that keeps my audience on topic and helps pinpoint how far along I am in the presentation.
I'm often complimented for this simple innovation. PowerPoint makes it easy!

Creative project -- me? I'm NOT (graphically) creative!
That being said, Office templates are a great starting point, as are my company's templates and other tools. When I don't have these crutches to help me along, I can easily find other templates, transfer them from my Office for the PC on my other computer, or go to my old standby - using Word and Entourage to describe with words (1000 of them = 1 picture, no?). From there, my creative team can help out - and Office helps us to work as a team to accomplish great things!
