Two very deserving winners as you can see from our interviews below, and as luck would have it both students. A free copy of Office 2008 and a new MacBook is certainly a great way for them prep for winter quarter finals! And don’t be a spoilsport if you didn’t win this time around, you never know when the give-a-way bug will hit us next

Winner: Bryce Porter

I am a 25 year old Software Engineer and student. I have a beautiful wife and a brand new baby boy. I work full time for LotusJump Inc. developing search engine optimization software. I am also a graduate student at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in the Computer Science program. Some of my interests include computers, video games, and snowboarding. In my limited spare time I enjoy spending time with my family as well as designing, programming, and playing video games.

 

Q:  How did you find out about the contest?
A:  I heard about it on Twitter. Someone I was following retweeted about the contest and that piqued my interest.

Q:  How is having a Mac Book going to make your life better?
A:  As I state in my biography I am a graduate student in computer science and a software engineer so I spend the majority of my day on the computer. My current laptop is close to five years old, slow, and the battery does not hold a charge which pretty much makes it a desktop computer now. It will be nice to have a laptop that I can take to class and work that is light weight and fast. This will help me out a lot because I spend so much time working on the computer.

Q:  What are you hoping to see in Office for Mac 2011?
A:  I am looking forward to an updated GUI, as well as the collaborative experience. I am hoping to see a GUI that is more intuitive that also continues to cater to those who have been using office products for a long time.

Q:  Which application do you use most? Why?
A:  I use Word the most because of all the papers I write for school as well as for writing and viewing documents that are work related. I will be starting work on my graduate research so I anticipate using Word even more frequently now.

I am a 20 year old living in Southern California, where I am currently attending a community college, and majoring in Graphic Design. I am employed at Michaels Arts & Crafts as a Front End Supervisor, and have been working there for 2 years (3 in April). My interests include any kind of design work, technology themed blogs/magazines.

Q:  How did you find out about the contest?
A:  I found out about the sweepstakes through a TUAW. (The Unofficial Apple Weblog)

Q:  How is having a Mac Book going to make your life better?
A:  Having a Macbook will make my school like a lot more easier. I currently do not have a laptop, and have recently been wanting one. This will definitely come in handy with my school work, and even improve my productivity at home.

Q:  What are you hoping to see in Office for Mac 2011?
A:  I am currently using Office for Mac 2004. With that said, anything would be a improvement.

Q:  Which application do you use most? Why?
A:  Word for Mac will probably be used the most, because I always have a paper to write for all of my classes. Powerpoint will also be used frequently because I occasionally have presentations to do for my classes.
