Cocoa and then... iOS on iPad?
I was really disapointed that Office Web App was not allowing editing in Safari mobile for iPad... and the viewer experience of PPT is not suitable for customer presentation either...
I can only imagine that we would need first to have a full Cocoa version of Office Mac before we see a "Office of iOS" to work on iPads... iWork is just "not it".
Please I hope I am wrong, because beside marketing reason to do or not, from a technical stand point, this translate to 2 / 3 years from today... not good.

Make both interface similar to reduce learning time
From the picture I have seen, I noticed that office 2010 for PC and 2011 for Mac have close interface but different. I believe that this is a mistake. People choose programs because they are easy to use so as the more and more people move to MAC, keep what you have done right and help them work from within Office the same way be it on MAC or PC.
At the end, we spend most of our time within an office application and not OSX or Windows 7 so to keep the dollar rolling for Microsoft. Make both applications the same so that we do not WASTE time trying to find where things are.
Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely

Also, is it possible to make image alignment and placement within a document easier? After inserting more than two or 3 images, the images will "snap" to some predefined (not by the user) position in the document. It often happens when you try to stretch the image, or after inserting an image to a position other than the last image.
I can assure you the latter problem is one that most scientists have experienced if they have used Word to prepare an NIH grant. This an old problem and is on thee PC side too.. but not as bad.

Two Requests
1. I don't mind Office 2011 being 32-bit as long as the atrocious Excel file load and calc times are improved. Performance should be on a par with the Windows version. Feature set too...
2. Please, please, please release a PPC version of Office 2011. That's a fair trade for Office not being 64-bit. Any Mac that can run Leopard should be able to run Office 2011.
Also, there are two reasons why it would be bad for Office 2008 to be the last PPC edition:
a) No Visual Basic support - means having to go back to Office 2004.
b) the New Outlook client - last PPC version was Outlook 2001, not even an OS X app, and Entourage has always been something of a stepchild. Even if the rest of Office isn't ported to the PPC, at least please consider a PPC Outlook 2011 client.

Question
Question: how does one even determine whether a program is 32 or 64 bit? I notice that this kind of information isn't in the Get Info box for an app.
Also, I agree with the previous two commenters about the need to know whether right to left languages are supported in Word 2011.

1) Regarding 64-bit and... 2) OneNote on Mac
I make the comment because I am sure someone will start a conspiracy theory about this being an excuse not to offer 64 bit, but as of today and regarding Office 2010, 32 bit is the way to go.
Mac Users.. no reason to feel 'segregated' anymore.
Now... my conspiracy theory.
Office 2010 Standard includes OneNote... considering that Outlook is coming to the Office 2010 Mac Suite, could this possibly mean that OneNote Mac could make an appearance later on?

Outlook 64bit
Despite mail apps not really requiring 64bit there is performance to be gained if Apple's own mail app is any indication.

need help!!!
I´m new user of mac and office for mac. I know there is a function to lock a cell that contains a formula so when you drag it, it doesn't move the row, the column or both.
for example if on cell contains =c7+d5, and if you don't want c7 to move when you drag it, you put the $ symbol like this $c$7, that way, if you drag the cell, it lock the c7. In my PC that function had a shortcut by pressing F4 key. but I cant find a shortcut in mac excel.
Does any body knows????

Digital Certificates in Office 2011 for Mac
Dear Sir:
My question is about digital certificates in Office 2011 for Mac.
Is possible sign a Office 2011 for Mac document whit a digital certificate ?
Word and Excel ?
(in Entourage for Mac 2008 is possible).
Digitally signing a document has many benefits. A digital signature on a
file is an electronic, cryptographic-based, secure stamp of authentication.
When you add a digital signature to a document, you are supplying a
verifiable signature that can vouch for the authenticity and integrity of the
file. The certificate used to create this signature identifies the signer.
Readers of your document can be assured of the document creator's identity
and that the document has not been altered since it was created.
This is very, very important.
How to digitally sign a Office for Mac (Word and Excel) document whit my Citizen’s Card ?
The digitally signing is very, very important. The countries in Europe go to
the Personal Identity Card.

Here's hoping
Please, please, please pay close attention to this. I would take seamless connections over many feature updates any day. Try testing with certificates where there is a mismatch or finally ridding us of the serialize token error that is just a black spot. Reminds of the song Wasted Days and Wasted Nights trying to fix this.
As for the rest of Office, better compatibility with the PC version, vbs script handling, and more Cocoa code are all welcome advances.
Kudos to your team for your hard work. We Mac people can be a very hard lot to please because we're just used to stuff just working.

Thing we need in Office 2011. A lot!
Entourage EWS is unstable, slow, and lacks features. And is a lot of work to set up.
Apple "Mail" just works...
Language Packs: Why do we need to remove and reinstall Office08 completely if a user wants another language ?
Excel: Feature parity with Office ´10. Excel in ´08 is missing a lot of pieces.
Powerpoint: Same as above.
I support and Deploy 600 Macs. I spend more time fixing Office, and especially Entourage, than anything else by a factor of at least 3...

cross platform full mail/ calendar delegation?
I want to know that if I am using hosted exchange from my macbook pro that I will have full delegation functionality with my admin who uses a PC.
Simple, I am certain, to the developers and admins here... but I am my own help desk and do not want to be disappointed after a long wait for this, only to find out after release that full mail and calendar delegation are not there.

Why not Mac Office 2010?
The "version behind" Windows is BS today as we go into the second decade of the 21st century. But I don't think the MS bureaucrats seem to get it, and they still act like the last couple decades of the 20th century. I have noticed quality degraded ever since MS put the Mac unit into a separate corner of the MS campus back when MS (pardon the cliche) "bailed out" Apple back in the late 90s.
I cannot get why your programmers and developers seem to just be slackers and write fluffy posts about nothing on a blog that many people have wanted features that you appear to not care for. You guys work for Steve BALMER, not Steve JOBS, so if your staff wants to be "cool" work for the latter Steve.
Lots of us need the same features just like how both MS Office platforms were prior to 97, when the parity just went downhill. Exchange has been mentioned since the MSDN days, and I still remember the overwhelming requests of 99% of each comment wanting Exchange. And apparently we still don't have it yet.
Many of us are now an ever so growing refuges of the death of Windows as we know it. I am still making a decision on what platform to use, if its Windows, Macs or Linux. But with my growing demands of working with Windows Office documents, the Mac Office, OpenOffice.org, and iWork doesn't cut it. MS Office on the Mac has produced nothing but more headaches and potential diseases.
I also don't like the people who do the same thing I do (come from Windows), but then to ask things like "can you make a feature to link with my iPhoto/iMovie" or "make Entourage's databases like Mail" which defeats the purpose of Exchange based PSTs.
Please just do what the majority asks. Exchange (or OUTLOOK for that matter, dead obvious first on the list.) And lastly (to keep it simple) just copy every code from the Windows 2010 and port it onto the Mac! It's just that simple. The only diff would be to tweak it to make it work on the Mac.
This feature parity divide has no more excuses anymore. I wish the Windows Office takes control over the Mac division, and maybe there will be progress for the first time in the 21st Century. Maybe by Office 2011, it will be just as compatible as Office 97 that was for WINDOWS.
Apologies for my unhappy expectations for one of the best of the best office products around, that is if you have Windows.
